I was a little concerned when booking this place because they didn’t have lots reviews. And they were slow to answer your emails. But very happy with my decision! Everywhere is modern, our rooms were spacious and clean. Reception staffs were friendly, especially Ning, she answered our questions even in her day off and helped us get their complimentary Tuk Tuk within 5 minutes. The Tuk Tuk drivers were friendly too and they were always available within a few minutes whenever we needed to go to (or be picked up at) the near by beach, and we loved that beach, it has many restaurants and good massages.
We stayed here for 4 nights in december, the rooms were very modern, spacious and clean,we had lots of sunshine so made good use of the lovely swimming pool, reception staff were very friendly.....would highly recommend a stay here.
Horizon Residences are well worth a visit They are beautifully presented, with modern decor and amenities The 2 swimming pools are well maintained and handy to all the properties ( we were in the 3 bedroom townhouse 47 , with pool right out front) the cafe at the top pool serves delicious food, also snacks and drinks and is open during weekdays The reception staff are extremely helpful and always ready to help in any way , or give local advice Extremely clean properties and grounds You can also hire motor bikes onsite We have stayed a few times here in different apartments and townhouses ( depending on our needs at the time ) But we absolutely love the 3 bedroom Townhouse 47 the best It has a fully equipped kitchen , 2 king bedrooms upstairs with their own en-suites and a king single bedroom downstairs with another downstairs separate bathroom The loungeroom is very spacious and has a large corner lounge suite and beautifully furnished The kitchen / dining has a dining table to seat 6 and there is a gorgeous courtyard garden with rock feature wall to sit and have some breakfast The small village of Choeng Mon is a 5 minute walk from Horizon Residences and the beautiful beach is about the same , you take a short cut through Sala resort We walked down most early mornings on the beach and did the length down to the end of the town back in about 45mins ( slow stroll) We love the fact that Choeng Mon is a quieter village, but has one of the nicest family friendly beaches , great restaurants .. “Mothers” is well worth a try and “Long Table” Both family operated , with amazing Local food and not expensive ( and they will deliver to your hotel ) Choeng Mon is still only 10 minutes to the main town of Chaweng by car or bike , and 5 minutes to Big Buddha and the Bangrak ferry if you want to go to the islands for the day ... or 15 minutes to Fisherman’s village where there are some amazing restaurants, bars and night markets Horizon also has their own coin washing machine onsite laundry room ( we opted to have ours washed and folded by a local lady , as it’s so cheap anyway) And I hear ( from another friend who stayed once before when we did ) that the gym is very well equipped and has its own shower and toilet as well I would highly recommend Horizon Residences,…
We rented a one bedroom apartment for three weeks it was confortable and well furnished. There are two really nice pool areas and the development is only a few minutes walk tothe beach. They development also has a tuk tuk to take you to the beach. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. It was great and suited our needs perfectly.
we had the best stay here. it was for my 30th birthday. please see the breakdown of the hotel below (it will be a long one) The room: we had a one bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor, great view of the pool. this hotel is quiet (which was perfect for us) and there is a lift! (think we were in room 40?) Our room and communal areas were SUPER clean, and could be cleaned daily if you wish (just as the sign on the door) good kitchen area (not that we used it), modern appliances and everything you would need if you were to cook. the living areas had a sofa, coffee table, smart TV air conditioning, rug (nice change from tiles) a dining table with place mats (home from home feel) a small balcony over looking the pool a good sized shower room, and a double bedroom also with a smart TV. lots of storage. very comfortable bed. air conditioning and a good view again over the pool. Everything finished to a high standard. The communal areas: again SUPER clean. quiet and finished to a high standard. water features in each block. there is a gym which has toilets, air condition and a good selection of equipment to use. the reception is not attached to where you stay but you have to pass it to get to your apartment. the staff are super friendly and happy to help with anything you may need. there is also a shop attached to the reception area and the prices are very reasonable and have the essentials you may need. there is also a security guard on duty all of the time who is friendly (everyone here smiles and is always happy - such a difference to London life) overall summary is that i would 100% stay here again! the pool areas: two entrance steps one at either end of the pool. part of the pool is infinity and acts as a water feature leading up to it. there is stairs to the pool but you can go the other way and avoid these if necessary. comfortable sun loungers with plenty of umbrellas. the pool bar offers everything you would want from great food (pad thai), bar snacks (nibbles, sandwiches and chips etc.), hot and cold drinks, smoothies, fresh fruit, coconuts, pineapple drink, cocktails, beers etc. low level music (super relaxing) usually open mon-fri the lady who runs this is so lovely and friendly. other aspects of the holiday: - there is a beach called choeng mon - the quickest way to get here is via the walk way buy the sala hotel. (the best beach we went to) - highly recommend the fisherman village which is held on Friday - great markets, restaurants and massage beauty places with good deals. - you can get the ferry to koh phangan and koh tao (good for water sports) - Koh Samui have animal sanctuaries - do some research beforehand - if possible hire a bike, much cheaper to get around than taxi's - A MUST - the JUNGLE CLUB!!! try and book for an hours before sunset - food is great and very reasonably price a view that takes your breathe away! you want to see it in the day light and relax as the suns setting!!! (staff are very attentive) Book! you'll have the best time!!…
We were frantically scouring for a place for our daughter to stay before Pabuk struck and the staff here saved us. A potentially scary night was transformed into comfortable luxury. What touched us was how the proprietor owned the situation and made it clear she would find us accommodations. Location has an onsite pantry convenience store which made for a homed cooked meal in the well equipped kitchenette for our adventurer backpacker turned accidental storm chaser.
We looked far and wide for accommodations that our group of 12 could agree on. I happened to stumble on this place while searching on google for a place to stay near Choeng Mon beach since I heard it was a calm clean kid friendly beach. I compared the rates on a few sites and decided to book directly through HR. I called them and they were able to match the price that I saw on another site. We provided them with our bank account info and gave them a deposit. We also reserved a van through them to pick us up from the airport. The van arrived promptly and we were at HR in less than 15 mins. Checkin was smooth. They did take 300 euros as a deposit for damages which was returned when we left. The girls at the front desk were friendly. One of them led us to our rooms. Our room was on the top floor and we had a view of the the bottom pool and front desk building. It was very modern, spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had all the essentials to make a basic meal. The A/C was very strong, but the water pressure and temperature varied. The laundry facilities was a plus as we did a load while we were there. The gym was adequate, not that I used it but we did use the gym restroom. House keeping came once in a while. The top pool had an edge that overflowed like an infinity pool. That was nice. We did get a few stares from older guests when we brought our kids to swim in the upper pool. The bottom pool was nice and there was a kiddie shallow pool right next to it. The complimentary tuk tuk service was very useful. We used it several times a day to get to the main road to go to the bank, grab food, go to 7-11 and get closer to the road that lead to the beach. It saved us a good 15 mins walk each way. Unfortunately the tuk tuk was out of service the last couple days of our stay. A few things that could be improved: clean the mosquito blood stains on the white curtains in the living room, install shower curtains so all the water doesn't overflow all over the restroom floor, invest in a nice metal trashcan. Overall I was very impressed with the facilities and accommodations of HR. I definitely recommend HR to anyone staying in this area. It is a quiet and calm area. There are some really good restaurants on the main strip.…
A return visit after a year or so and it's great to see the place still looking modern and clean but with a great addition of the pool bar that does top class food and drinks. Highly recommend that. It's a great location and easy to get about (plus the tuk tuk is always on hand for short trips into Choeng Mon). Apartment 40 where we stayed is ideal, nice view onto the pool and the apartment has everything you need and in top condition. Overall a great choice for a stay in Koh Samui especially if you're looking for somewhere that's peaceful and relaxing but with all the nightlife you want a short distance away.
We met up with friends from the uK after staying here in march 2017. I'm glad to say it's just as good and feels like it is still brand new. There is transport up until 10pm to the beach and high street we we used a lot. We got cabs from reception for big nights out. Great to see that the girls in reception were the same as last time. Will try and come back next year.
We spent 2 weeks here in august. Just as good as last year and they have now have a small bar/cafe at the top pool. They have also extended the tuk tuk which can take you up to the main strip. They also helped me find a Personal trainer who came to train me at the on site gym. Will be back.
