Absolutely lovely hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Was disappointed as my room was not what I had booked. Breakfasts are absolutely top notch. Not enough seating by the beach pool area. But still an amazing place to stay. Central with an amazing beach.

Hotel's Favourite
This was easily the best hotel/resort experience that we could have imagined. Not only is the space incredibly beautiful, unique, and immaculately clean, this was by far the best accommodation weve ever received from a hotel staff. This is our third time staying at a Melia hotel (Hué, da Nang), and we chose this place because we knew that they provide literally the best, most attentive care to their guests. We were not surprised by how amazing this experience is, and it still went above and beyond our expectations. Special shout out to Lucy, candy, K, Fah, keng, All of whom greeted us warmly and treated us with the nicest, most thorough care we could have asked for. The room you’re staying in is one of the boats and it is by far the most unique, elegant, and cozy hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. The bed is so comfy, the ac is perfect, the bathroom is huge and has everything you need. We were asked when we booked the hotel if we were celebrating anything and we told them it was our honeymoon. Their response to this was simply incredible. They decorated our bed, brought us a sweet treat, and showered us with love and congratulations. I’ve never felt such genuine and wholesome care from a Hotel, and we will stay at Melia hotels anytime we are able. Having been to a few different resorts on Koh Samui, I can assure you that this is the best place to be. Great location, great pool, great gym, great breakfast, impeccable staff, everything about it is ideal and you need to experience this for yourself.

Response from Jarodfah Sivayathorn, Owner at Melia Koh Samui
Responded 8 Dec 2022
Dear ScottbN8366VN, Thank you very much for your kind feedback about Melia Koh Samui and thank you for choosing us as your home away from home during your trip in Koh Samui. Indeed, staying in Boat Suite is once in a lifetime experience since they are all real rice river barges that we are all proud of, we are glad that you loved it too. However, the most important thing is there is nothing to be compared to your kind review and your compliments to our team. It is absolutely significant for us. We appreciate your comprehensive feedback and it has been shared with our team for continuing the great service. Moreover, thank you very much for your kind endorsement of our service and the product you have received from Melia Koh Samui, and for highlighting our colleagues such as Khun Lucy, Candy, Fak and Keng. They will be delighted to receive your compliment. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you back to Melia Koh Samui. Warm regards, Jarodfah Sivayathorn Guest Experience Manager

I decided to book Melia for my birthday along with my 7yo daughter. Though the property was beautiful we found the service quite disappointing. We arrived in Samui after a long flight and despite requesting for ab early check in, by the time they were able to give us the room we had booked it was 4pm. It was dark by the time we could leave our rooms and therefore our entire day was wasted. As soon as my daughter jumped into the bed a cloud of dust rose and spread in the room. We informed housekeeping but they didn’t do anything about it. The pool bar was infested with cockroaches and I understand given the ambiance it must be though but the least they could do was wash the utensils with cockroaches on them or discard them but he did neither and continued using the infested utensils. The property has so much potential, only if they would work on cleanliness and hygiene and service. Also I sent the pictures to the management but they completely ignored it.

As a guest of Meliá KS, we thought to take advantage of the cooking class here as opposed to others. For us, it was good value for money as the chef took us to the local markets, the big Buddha and took us through a 3 course meal where we were able to choose the dishes beforehand. We ate after each course and we also had the option to take the rest to our rooms if we couldn’t finish it. We were provided with recipes, aprons and a completion certificate Highly recommend Chef Kai and Eye (our lovely helper)

Fantastic hotel complex. We stayed in two of the level boat suites which were absolutely beautiful. Swimming pool area has plenty of loungers and so has the beach. Staff were very friendly. We used the level for pre dinner cocktails which had a lovely view of sunset, we also chose to take breakfast here as well which was very chilled out.

My travel agent booked me at this family friendly hotel and there is an overwhelming amount of kids here. Babies everywhere at the adult swimming pool and unsupervised kids screaming throughout the resort. My room was so loud they moved me but this room is just as loud. Absolutely no rules for parents and their unruly kids and wailing toddlers. Not the place for adults unless you don't mind a resort that only caters to families.

Property is nice but staff is does not care. This is a 5 star property with 5 star pricing and 2 star service. Simple things like getting clean towels in the room, a fork at breakfast, water in the lobby, clean tables in the clubhouse are a challenge. Also dont spend the extra for the "Level Lounge" its a joke all open with food or drinks for 2 hours and the food is horrible and they dont even have whisky! Just cheap beer, Vodka, Rum and Gin. Breakfast is flavorless only thing good is the fruit and eggs to order the rest is cafeteria quality. Management does not care, if you ask to talk to someone or for a business card they tell you the manager is busy and they dont have business cards. Disgusted I spent a lot of money on this hotel when there are many other better options near by for the half the price ran by families not a huge corporation who could care less.

We stayed at Melia Koh Samui for 7 nights in a level access boat suite. The room was lovely, very clean and quite quirky it was the rest of our stay that disappointed us. This is a five star establishment that certainly is not cheap especially with level access so with this in mind....... Not enough sun beds. On the upper sun deck sone chairs are broken nails sticking out and no cushions. Level access really not worth the extra expense. Breakfast was a massive array of different foods but snacks from 12 PM consisted of olives, almonds, walnuts or dried fruit. Soft drinks even bottled water is not available until 12.The afternoon tea consists of one type of cake, one variety of sandwich which were invariably dried up, a mouthful of a wrap and a small fruit cocktail stick skewer. We usually went there at 3 PM (the afternoon tea starts at 2 until 4). On several occasions there no sandwiches out or wraps, and it seem to us there was a reluctance to put more out.The tea urn was not hot enough to make tea on a couple of days too, including breakfast when I had cold tea on two occasions. Compared to other club lounges we felt it was meagre the offering. In the evening the drinks certainly flowed with only a few choices of canapes. There were weird canapes like panacotta and cake, or an urn of soup. We felt the soup would have been better put out at lunchtime rather than just dried nuts and raisins, and at breakfast there was a huge selection of sandwiches which were never touched which again could have been offered at lunchtime. Our room was lovely but there was no nightly turn down service and the fruit plate was never refilled in our 7 days there, once you have eaten your three pieces of fruit that's it !!IIn other 5 star establishments we have stayed at this is replenished daily with a nightly sweetmeats. The girls were lovely in the level lounge but service and ordering unfortunately was hit and miss. No extra tea or coffee was ever offered, Items were missed and a la carte breakfasts were cold. In the end we just had toast or croissants. The problem is that we were comparing it with a five star hotel in Hua Hin where we have had club access and with that in mind Melia fell quite short in various aspects. Bottom line it is a lovely hotel that could be magnificent as the grounds and beach are lovely but just feel a few tweaks need to happen. We would not return but try another 5 star establishment in that area and after speaking to a couple of other guests they felt the same as we did especially about the lack of sun beds and the meagre level access offerings.

Beautiful hotel in a great location, great food and drinks, all of the staff are lovely and super friendly which made our stay even better. Baw always made the the effort to come over and speak to us and remembered our names which was very sweet. I highly recommend this hotel!
