As our flight approached USM at the end of March 2019 the same thought kept going through my mind - why had I allowed almost seven years to elapse since our last visit to Koh Samui? In the summer of 2012, self, wife and teenage son had rented two villas at the Conrad Koh Samui - we had had a wonderful time there, albeit the resort (at the south-west corner of the island) was quite a distance from the airport and fairly isolated from everything else on the island. When the opportunity arose to spend four days at Villa Belle I jumped at the chance. The location seemed perfect - within easy reach of the airport, beaches, etc - situated with nobody overlooking you, on a hillside with far-reaching views. So it was with great excitement and anticipation that self, wife, son and son’s friend climbed into an SUV at USM for the short drive to Villa Belle. We were not in anyway disappointed. There is a certain feeling of exclusivity about not only having an entire staffed villa to yourselves, but also having the ability to have your breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared for you without having to set foot outside the property. And therein lies, for us, the unique selling point of the Villa Belle experience - the in-house chef (the wife of the villa manager). All we had to do was thumb through a book of Thai recipes, indicate what we would like to eat, agree a meal time and present ourselves at the appointed hour to enjoy what turned out to be stupendously delicious food - all prepared with ingredients purchased on our behalf by the villa’s manager in local markets, at cost with just a very reasonable USD10 surcharge for his time. Superb food and tremendous value! The accommodation itself was fine, air-conditioned throughout with ceiling fans, and spotlessly clean (thanks to the live-in maid). The four of us preferred to use the two downstairs bedrooms in preference to the upstairs bedroom, despite the latter supposedly being the master bedroom. The small pool provided welcome relief from the heat and humidity, and the sitting area provided many hours of laid-back relaxation time. Through the excellent villa manager we rented a very competitively-priced car for three days; this provided easy access to the local 7-11 store (five minutes away) and the delightful beach (just a couple of minutes further), which proved very difficult to tear ourselves away from. If I am forced to be critical about anything it would be this - the towels were more Holiday Inn standard than Four Seasons; one would expect the latter standard at a property at this price level. To be fair, the villa manager did say he would highlight the matter to the owners of Villa Belle. I also found the need to highlight one safety issue (a potential balcony fall hazard) to the villa manager; I would be both surprised and disappointed if this had not already been addressed. However, overall a superb experience - made all the better by the in-house dining (as good as any restaurant on the island). If you can afford it, do yourself a favour and make a reservation to stay at Villa Belle. A word of warning to the owners of Villa Belle - if ever I can afford to buy my own Koh Samui villa the first thing I will do is steal your chef and triple her wages!

We spent a fabulous restorative week in Villa belle at the end of August. We are a family of 5 with 3 children aged 8, 10 and 14 and we all had the most fabulous time. the decor and the space in the villa is wonderful, and the pool is refreshing and perfect. We used the villa as a base to relax or to travel around the island sampling the various beaches. The location is great and the views from its height are really worth it. Quite often we were above the rain clouds lower down. The staff really make the experience something special. Noom, the housekeeper was always on hand and helped us with everything we needed to arrange and book. He recommended us wonderful day trips and booked them in advance for us. He also gave us a great recommendation of a hospital to go to when we had an unfortunate emergency (kids...). The in house chef is, in my opinion, the best chef on the island. The food was stupendously good. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, and we felt thoroughly looked after. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone.

Im a little delayed in writing this review. We stayed at the villa towards the end of November. As a group of 6 adults and 2 kids we had booked the entire villa and it was really an amazing experience. The staff is amazing, they are more than courteous and do everything to make the guests experience better - always with a smile. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and the views from the villa, the fabulous food, the service was spot on. I recommend this place to everyone and would definitely revisit on my next trip to Samui.

There's no other place to stay but Villa Belle. The beautiful furnishings, unforgettable home cooked food to your personal order, delightful staff team who are unobtrusive but there when you need anything, and a truly amazing setting and view both in the daytime and nighttime makes for a truly unforgettable stay! Very highly recommended for a quiet location but yet within 5 minutes of amazing vibrant shopping areas as well as three lovely beaches. A "must visit" destination for families or very relaxing business travels.

We spent the most amazing few days at Villa Belle. It felt like home from home with an idyllic location perched above Choeng Mon giving a 180 degree view across three bays and lush coconut plantations and countryside. It enabled us all to chill with the foray around koh Samui. We had all our meals at the villa since the food was sumptuous and delicious with an obliging chef demonstrating how to prepare things! The service and staff were impeccable attending to all our needs discreetly making us feel we were home. Would highly recommend Villa belle for the perfect getaway and great food.

We spent some wonderfully relaxing days in Villa Belle end of 2013 and we all (extended family) just loved it. The amenities and design of the villa are just great but even better was the service provided by Noom (villa manager) and Pa (housekeeping) - they carried us on their hands and fulfilled every wish: Pa surprised us everyday with her beautiful flower arrangements and dinner table decorations and Noom was the best organiser: from talented cooks to deeply relaxing spa breaks, beach club excursions and boat trips - Noom always recommended the best. The terrace(sunny until early afternoon) with the pool is really a heaven of tranquility and we enjoyed our breakfast there every morning. Pa and Noom tried to organise everything we like to eat for a perfect start in the day: fresh fruits, egg dishes, juices, coffee with cream instead of milk, and so on!!!!! The hillside location of the villa provides incredible views over Koh Samui but also means that you really need a car (although you might not want to leave the villa...) If somebody is sensible to light while sleeping I recommend to bring a sleeping mask as the bedrooms can't really be darkened and sun rises quite early. Noom is aware of that fact and might have organised darkening blinds in the meantime. We really loved every aspect of our holidays at Villa Belle and definitely plan to come back soon. Thanks again to Pa and Noom for making our days there soooo special!
