My wife and myself just spent 1 week at this resort, it it a bit away from shopping so a car or motor bike would be good to have. The staff were brilliant to say the least nothing was to much, the bunglow was immaculate from bedding to the bathroom it was just beautiful to the point where we didn't want to leave our little oasis, so as you gather we were wrapped with the location along with the quality of the resort

This place is awesome. Modern, clean apartments with fresh furniture. Nice view on sea and mountains. Very helpful stuff. They solved almost all our problems. Good, quiet location. Easy check-in. Airport pick-up. Easy bike rent.

The resort appears to be split into two different offerings, large self-catering villas (for families/groups) and smaller individual 1/2 bedroom villas operated as a hotel. We stayed in the latter. We had a villa with private pool, which had recently been refurbished and was modern, clean and spacious. The sea temperature was surprisingly warm during our visit so we were grateful for the shaded private pool which was particularly useful for keeping cool! The main hotel pool is also pleasant, but the water was pretty warm, too. The hotel loaned us masks/snorkels to explore the bay. Previous reviewers have complained about construction noise, during our stay it was evident that construction was taking place on the other site of the resort but we experienced minimal noise/disruption. There is some noise from planes coming in/out of Koh Samui airport but it wasn't a major issue for us. In general we found the hotel and beach very un-crowded and relaxing as it is located in a small bay on the north east tip of the island. The down side of this location is the need to take taxis (relatively expensive in Samui) into the larger towns on the island to access other amenities/markets/shopping etc. However, the Hotel provides a complimentary minibus everyday into Cahweng Beach at 1100, returning at 1700. The manageress spoke excellent English and was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We booked a Thai massage on our final day which was a memorable experience to end the trip! ā€¦

We had a holiday from 22 February to 22 March 2019. A building construction just 12 meters from our balcony. The noise was unbearable with drilling and banging from 8am to 6pm and could be heard behind close doors and around the swimming pool area. The main construction will take one year for the first stage that will finish approx July 2019 with another build starting and another 3 in front. Noise will be there for about 4 years. These apartments should not be rented out. There is a motorbike parking spaces directly under the balcony also taxi drop point. More noise and fumes. A very steep hill to the apartment with bad drain problems that could put your car out of action also badly lite at night. We were told the swimming pool has not been cleaned for 5 years the water was very jerky. Also constant noise with aircraft. The holiday was awful and very noisy the worst holiday ever.ā€¦

Hello readers, the room could do with some TLC. Complex is kept clean by excellent staff. The problem is that they are building 5 large villas in front of the apartments the noise is deafening from 08.00hrs to 18.00hrs 7 days a week/ a 2+ year build. Also you share the beautiful with the land and approach to koh samui airport past the left side of the building. Should you pick this block during construction good luck.bring some ear plugs and blinkers.šŸ˜³šŸ˜³šŸ˜³

The Waterfront Hotel in Bophut, Koh Samui was recommended by a friend and what a place to stay. Literally on the beach at the beginning of the Fishermans Village. The hotel collected us from the airport and when we arrived at the hotel we were made to feel welcome from the start. Our room looked out to the pool and onto the sea beyond. The room was spotless, air con, mini bar (not expensive) Clean towels and beach towels every day. English breakfast if you wish included. The staff were fantastic. Along with Robin our host, nothing was to much. Although the pool was great it was fantastic to be chilling out on the beach. And not a sole around you. We stayed for one week over Christmas and then moved to Phuket. I really wish we had not moved. But Iā€™d pre booked. I wanted to go back to my piece of paradise. Also you can walk out of the hotel and into the village where there are excellent shops bars and the best evening dining on the beach. I will definitely be back to the Waterfront and would highly recommend this place to anyone. One down side Man City lost 2 games during our stay, but hey not everything can be perfect šŸ˜ŠšŸ˜ŠšŸ˜Šā€¦

Response from thebaykohsamui, Manager at The Bay Koh Samui
Responded 6 Dec 2018
Sorry that you have had a miserable experience while living at our location. However, the Bay management doesn't have control over the room that the owners rent out by themselves. As we have investigated, (1) there was no record on informing the loudness from your next door both written and verbally from your owner. One of our staff knew from you on the very last day and had talked to your next door to lower the noise after 10 PM right after. They were an old couple who may talked loud but no party at their unit at all. There is sometime the local community down the road having a party. As the bay condo is uphill, if the units down there having one, the whole community is hearing it as well. That is actually out of our control, fortunately that it only happens once in a while, not regularly. (2) The washing machine is being used regularly. Most of the time when people found them all busy, they left their clothes and the coin for loads they need with us. We do have our laundry unit that happy to help taking care of the rest for you. Just come back when it done to get your washed clothes back. Because many people are regular using the washing machine, it is normal for you to find them fully use. We can help, just let us know! (3) The internet and TV signal are upon the owner to provide, there are out of our hand. Please keep in mind that different owners are different in decoration and such. If that is important to your stay, please kindly request directly to your unit's owner. Otherwise, there are only international channels provided as basic that the community currently have, no Thai channels available. (4) The electric is the island problem. As the power authority (PEA) is developing its facilities, some areas are marked for maintenance at the certain period in which nobody would know in advance. When there is not enough power to provide to the whole island's usage, the PEA has always tried to have every area being taken care of. Therefore, they release/stop the electricity for that reason. The bay team has tried every time to check with them for how long it will take, sometime we got the right answer, but sometime the issue had the PEA kept changing the exact time power will be back. That all we can do when the power outage happens, finding what is wrong at the moment and when to expect it back to work normally. Not only our property that facing this problem but the houses in the same village number and the next also, most of the time. In addition, the generator is the community's decision to have, as the condo residents is the real owner of the property. There is a huge investment on having one, it may actually happen in the near future but not yet settled. (5) There is a reason people trade off for going up the hill, THE VIEW! For anyone's information, the regular 120-125 cc motorbike can ride up our short uphill way just fine. The road were damaged from the upper property and gradually fixing, many of the previously issues have already fixed. The wall in the Bay Condominium is a doubled wall. Whether it wasn't soundproof wall type, but considering better off when compare to many others on the island. The views you have, all unit is facing the sea view toward Koh Phangan. As a plus, on your right hand when you stand at your balcony, there is the mountain side. You get to see the sunrise in the morning as well as the sunset in the evening. The sound surrounding our property is localize routine which most of the people here never complain about. Instead, many people are seeking this typical atmosphere and enjoying it.

I recently stayed in The Bay with my Husband for 13 nights. We had a first floor one bedroom apartment. The unit had everything you needed to make it a home away from home. It was clean and bright and modern and was serviced twice a week. There is a swimming pool, gym and cafe on site. The complex is situated up a steep hill making the views of the sea etc stunning, but not so good to walk up. So I would say that it is essential to have some form of transport. We hired a car which was inexpensive and a great way to see the Island. Beware the taxi's on Koh Samui are expensive with no set rate. All in all a very nice relaxed stay.

We stayed here for 10 days. We had been in touch with the team before leaving the UK to arrange the price and transfer. The communication was good although a tad slow but as we used to live in Thailand this is no surprise to us. The apartment was very clean and had great views of Wat Plai Leam. Was slightly disappointed that all that was provided on arrival was 2 small bottles of water (4 people staying there). There wasn't even any washing up liquid. Fair enough there is a 7-eleven and Family Mart at the bottom of the hill but after a days travelling the last thing we wanted to do was trapse up a hill that even the postman couldn't get up on his motorbike. The staff were very smiley and friendly but not the most helpful. We didn't have any issues whilst staying there but when we went to check out we were given the bill for water and electric. This came to Ā£97 for 10 days. When we questioned this we got told that it was the price for 4 people - 3 air con units even though it was supposed to be meter readings!! This is more than our monthly bill in the winter back home. Until 18 months ago we were living on Koh Samui and our monthly bill didn't even come to half of that so be prepared to pay over the odds on check out. You MUST have a car or motorbike when staying here as the hill is very steep. Although the security guy does make a good cheer squad to encourage you up the final few meters.ā€¦

Thank you for your review and rating, suffolkstar! The improvement has been applied to some issue here. The utility is metered, the picture of the meter at the beginning and ending can be request to see or be able to walk down to see as well. The postman can get up the hill, they come regularly on the daily basis except Sunday. Usually the bottled water is provided according to the number of people staying as it has been informed. Regularly, 2 for a studio or 1 bedroom, and 4 for 2 bedroom units. The bathroom set is also for welcoming on arrival, unlike hotels. These complimentary is different in each room due to its owner. :-)
