We had a wonderful time at the Plaka Hotel. The staff members were very friendly and helpful - especially when it came to giving us advice on the best way to see the sights of Athens. The best part of the hotel is that rooftop bar with an incredible view of the Acropolis. Definitely head up there for a drink...

The staff could not have been more helpful and attentive, and the breakfast was something to Look forward to every morning. I think the room was tastefully decorated with a good A/C. I would recommend asking for a room with an Acropolis View or higher up to help with the street Noise. In the middle of a big city however,...

We stayed in this location 10/10-10/12. The hotel has a great central location and amazing views. You are a 10-15 min walk from just about every attraction in the city. The hotel staff was top notch, extremely helpful. The rooms are comfortable and very clean - although do show some wear. The roof garden has amazing views of the Acropolis...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
