This hotel is right in the centre of historic Athens and the roof bar has wonderful views of the Acropolis. The hotel facilities are really only three star at best, there is only one very small lift, the restaurant only serves breakfast and the roof bar has no food; however there is no shortage of great restaurants in the area....

The best thing about this hotel is the breath taking view on the Acropolis - from some of the rooms - and most if all, from the roof terrace, especially at night (there is a bar). But apart from that there is a lot going for this hotel - the friendly and helpful staff, the details (on the first evening,...

The three of us decided to spend one night here before we could get into our apartment for the rest of our stay in Athens. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the room was comfortable and quiet. Even with three of us and a rollaway bed in the room, we did not feel crowded. But the real star...

Dear sds173 It was a pleasure to have you stay at Plaka, and I am happy to read that you most enjoyed your first experience in Athens. As well said, our Acropolis "exceptional" view can really "unwind" you! Thank you for choosing us and for taking the time to share your positive impressions. Best regards

Goods: 1) Good and friendly service. Greeks are generally very hospitable, warm and friendly people. 2) Complementary tray with small bottle of wine, fruits and baklava. A nice gesture 3) Breakfast was good with free tea, coffee and biscuits at the breakfast room (cosy room with sofas to relax on) 4) Nice Acropolis view from the roof terrace! 5) Excellent...

Dear CookieMon, Thank you for taking time to share your impressions of Plaka with the TripAdvisor community. I am thrilled you appreciated all extras we offer that differentiates us from many 3 and 4 star hotels in Athens . Price is a matter of availability and time of reservation. We arrived in Athens without having any accomodation booked, and after asking in several hotels and being told they were all full, we were starting to panic a little. The Plaka had one room left - but was more than our usual budget. It is a lovely hotel, the room was clean, bathroom had good water pressure and the staff...

Stayed here 2 nights from Santorini. This is a no nonsense 3 star property in a great location. there is no bell service available plus the elevators are tiny (4- 5 people). Staff are professional and helpful. If you look past that and just need a good base to explore Plaka, Monastirakiand the rest of old Athens then you are...

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for.two nights. The location was ideal for sightseeing the city in a short period of time. We could walk everywhere. If you are in athens for 1-2 nights ... Great location. Functional hotel but noisy. Nice patio but only a corner of it functions with the great views. Starbucks and a great gyro place 1 blocks way . Overall good location but if you want something nicer stay at the Exedra palace.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
