My friend & I stayed there this past summer. We expected it to be a wonderful hotel judging by the reviews on this site. First of all, the rooms were old & depressing looking. The carpet in the hall & the rooms (I saw 2 of them) was dirty. There was NO air conditioning (let alone hardly any air) in...

Best Western Museum, Athens I and my friend, two middle aged “girls” stayed at the hotel three nights recently. The hotel exceeded our expectations. As a three star hotel, it was excellent. The room, tiny but tidy with a small balcony which faced the front was good enough. Yet some renovations might be an advantage. The staff was really awesome...

We stayed at the "Museum Hotel" in the third week of October .The hotel room was clean, spacious had free wifi. The breakfast buffet was good- not to miss the Greek yoghurt which was definitely one of the best we had during our trip. The touristic center is about 15-20 min walk from the hotel-the walk helped us get a...

Good sized room, well appointed including in-room safe. Pleasant public areas and good breakfast. The hotel is located about 15 minute walk from Omonia Square metro station, but is unfortunately in a very seedy neighbourhood (every building awash with graffiti, and the walk to nice local restaurants involves a gauntlet of drunks, vagrants, and dog mess). The service is wonderful,...

We chose the Best Western Museum based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. We arrived at the hotel well before noon as we had just disembarked from a cruise. We never expected our rooms to be ready, but the gentleman at the front desk contacted housekeeping and found two rooms that were made up...a nice surprise. The rooms...

The hotel is nice and comfortable breakfast is ok but the worst part is that there are ticks on the beds and blankets . we called the front desk and they changed the sheets and blanckets but they need to fumigate the place . we showed them to them but they didnt seem to understand what the problem was.

Excellent Htl for the a short stay, I agree with "jim l" comments regarding graffiti but the amount is not peculiar to just this area. Short walk to the museum which in my opinion is a must see. Room was clean and adequate for a short stay, staff very helpful and breakfast what you would expect from a typical European...

Staying in Exarchia

Neighbourhood Profile
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
