I really struggled with what to do about this review because so much is AMAZING about this hotel but the WiFi situation is AWFUL, as is the hotel's lack of interest in getting it fixed. This is an ongoing issue that appears in many reviews...More
Came for 3 days, stayed for 5! Fabulous location and best breakfast view in the world—Acropolis on one side and Temple of Zeus on other! Walk everywhere Great staff and fellow-guests with whom you’ll share special experience of discovering or rediscovering Athens.
Stayed here 4 nights to celebrate daughter's 21st. Fantastic location with the Acropolis and Temple of Zeus practically within touching distance! Hop on hop off bus stop just up the road. Shops and restaurants nearby, lovely to walk round the area of an evening. Rooms...More

Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the
up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
