This hotel has easy access to the Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, and the Metro. A perfect spot for seeing the city. The Roof Garden Restaurant has fantastic views of the Parthenon and many rooms face out on the Temple of Olympian Zeus, just across the...More
It was great! From the beautiful decor to the warm reception upon check in (even at 5AM) and assistance, this hotel was spectacular. We stayed in a deluxe room on the 6th floor, which had an Acropolis view. Definitely worth what we paid, which was...More
Rooms are small, beds are even smaller . Unless you are staying on one of the top floors you are in a tiny room with a horribly hard bed and surrounded by street noise, however, that can be overlooked by the location. You can walk...More
Small, but excellent hotel for accessing highlights of Athens. Staff is attentive. Rooms are average, however those with a view of the Acropolis make the stay amazing. Great breakfast. The Greek salad is unusual and not what one would expect.

Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the
up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
