Booked a suite and got bumped up to the presidential suite with its own pool. It had a great view of the Acropolis from it's own private balcony. Staff couldn't be better from check in to breakfast that was included everything was excellent. Bed was very comfortable. Air conditioning available but really we just kept the windows open.

Couple of days spent here on a sight seeing trip before going to Crete. Hotel is adequate and very nice welcome. Room we took was a standard double and the outlook from the bedroom over the rear is poor - looking into other people's apartments - to be avoided. Also room is small and a little cramped with no separate...

The best hotel in Athens by far! the staff are great from the porters to the reception staff and cleaners. Beds are amazing, rooms and bathrooms are clean and modern. Highly recommend the spa and massages, the girls are amazing. Breakfast is an expirience in itself. So much to pick from and fresh ingredients. Stayed 3 nights. Close to central...

My four day stay at the Electra Palace was nothing short of incredible. I cannot praise the staff enough for the service we received, particularly Georgia behind the reception, but all the staff went out of their way to welcome us and help us. The spa was also absolutely brilliant and all the girls made our holiday magical with their...

Went to stay for 3 nights in this hotel, the staff were probably the most helpful people in Athens! Any restaurants, places or questions- they always went above and beyond to help! The room was brilliant, there was a massive misunderstanding with the booking and even though we couldn't book the room we wanted, we were given a different room...

I am a hotel snob but, the staff in this beautiful hotel are far from snobbish. They were actually delightful. At check in I requested a room with a balconly and a view of the acropolis. He said "your wish shall be granted! They aim to please. I called downstairs at least 3 times for silly things things like the...

Have just spent 4 lovely days exploring Athens and have been so impressed by the wonderful Elektra Palace Hotel. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful and that is from reception (Georgia on the front desk was so kind and informative) as were all of the staff at the rooftop resto/bar. We arrived shattered after only a couple...

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Electra Palace Hotel. We had a Superior room with an Acropolis view. The room was very clean and comfortable. All the staff at the hotel were very friendly. We ate at the roof garden restaurant every evening and found the service excellent. This hotel is in a superb location in the...

After a long and exhausting flight, our welcome at the Electra Palace could not have been better. Seamless check-in, amenities explained, we were ushered to our room which had a superb view of the Acropolis. Welcome to Greece. The room was spacious, the beds divine and everything needed was supplied, including a room safe. Top location in the Plaka, close...

First of all, I don't write bad reviews. But this hotel made it hard not to. If you like to travel as I do, you will notice this is not a 5 star hotel. The service is not 5 star. The room is not 5 star. We waited for over 20 minutes to be served at the rooftop bar. I...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.

Enjoy our delicious contemporary greek cuisine at the award winning “Electra Palace Roof Garden” or at the “Motivo” in the lounge, or with a drink at the “Duck Tail”, our British inspired bar.
