We loved our stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was great, it is very central and very close to a metro. Our room also had a nice view of the Acropolis after we asked to move to different room (the first 1 smelled of smoke - they immediately assisted us though!!) Will stay here again!

Stayed at the Amalia on the last leg of our honeymoon. Staff was friendly, rooms were average and the wifi worked as it should. The breakfast was included and really wasn't much to desire. While there were plenty of options, it just didn't suit my taste. The Parliament building was close so it was neat to see the changing of...

Comfortable accomodation , nothing spectacular. They have not capitalized on a tremendous opportunity to really make this place stand out - they have an amazing roof top terrace that is not being used? This terrace overlooks the Acropolis, but no facilities such as drinks, food , tables and chairs. However the location being central to everything and the view from...

Perfect location. It is within walking distance from Parliament Square, the shopping area, the Plaka and the Acropolis ruins & the Temple of Zeus. The view of the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb can actually be seen from the roof garden (but too far for details). There is a view of the Acropolis. It is in a safe...

Location, location , value, value. Paid the extra for a great sixth level room facing the paliament, adjoining gardens and nearby 1896 Olympic Stadium and mountains in the background. The rooftop had great views of the Acropolis/Pathenon, especially at night. Our private and large verandah, with table and chairs and excellent vistas was a fantastic spot for an evening tipple,...

We spent two nights here. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very well located near the main square and opposite the National Gardens. Breakfast included was very generous and a good variety of goods. The room we were given was attractive and had a comfortable bed. The bathroom had all you needed but was very small, no bath and the shower...

The hotel is centrally located. Next to tram station and metro station. It is just opposite to Parliament House and National Garden. It is also within walking distance to Temple of Olympian Zeus, old town Plaka and Acropolis. It is a very good choice for tourists. The hotel also offers rich breakfast with various choices of foods. One drawback is...

We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Athens. The location is incredible. It is right off of Syntagma Square, across from the Parliament and National Gardens. It is right around the corner from the direct bus to the airport and the metro. It is within walking distance to Ermou, Plaka, the Acropolis, etc. The included breakfast buffet is very...

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
