The hotel was just Okay. The pictures on the website are deceiving. The staff was great, and everything was ready when we arrived. The rooms were small and the bathrooms were clean. The beds were hard. The continental breakfast in the morning is good.

I stayed there for 5 nights after my stay in some greek islands. The hotel is in a really good and safe location right under the acropolis and near plaka area. The rooms are very clean and bathroom is really nice and clean and shower has a lot of water cold and hot good pressure. They would clean everyday. They... More

The staff at Acropolis View Hotel in Athens were terrific. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them and they strove to make our stay pleasant. Well done. The room was nice but on the small side even for the deluxe room that I booked. The balcony was small but nice with a side view of the Parthenon. We... More

I loved the quiet area, but so close to everything. Easy walking distance to the Acropolis and surrounds. Very friendly, helpful staff, breakfast was adequate. The view from the 5th floor to the Acropolis at night was stunning, a big bonus that one could purchase a glass or bottle of wine to enjoy whilst admiring the view.

Great location in a quiet neighborhood. Partial view of the acropolis from my balcony. It was fun walking to Monastiraki and around the acropolis. Extremely narrow shower. I had problems positioning the wall mounted TV. Good WiFi. Excellent rooftop terrace.

Great hotel for exploring Athens on foot. Easy to get from the airport (short walk from Syntagma Square), located at the foot of Acropolis and easy to walk to all main tourist attractions. Good value for for the money; friendly staff, Basic clean triple single bed room and good Breakfast. Best part is the location and the terrace with an... More

We chose the Acropolis View because of the reviews and the views . . . and we got what we requested. A fourth floor front room with a balcony and views of the Acropolis - perfect. If that wasn't enough it's only a short walk upstairs to the rooftop with almost unparalleled views of the whole Acropolis area and plenty... More

This is a very clean, we'll run hotel. The staff are very friendly, helpful with directions and are always pleasant. The continental breakfast was very good and well stocked. We really enjoyed the breathtaking views from the room and roof top terrace. Would definitely recommend!

Summary: A nice, clean, well-run hotel at a great location and a superb view of Acropolis from the rooftop. The hotel is situated on a quite side street a stone's throw from Acropolis and the Herodes Atticus ancient theatre. Free parking is almost always available on the street, a rarity in central Athens. The staff is friendly and efficient, the... More

We visited this hotel at the beginning of August, we paid extra but had a room with a balcony looking out at the front and an amazing side view of the Acropolis, which is lit up at night and is truly stunning. As you are already half way up the hill not a major toll to climb up to the... More

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
