The reasonably large and seemingly clean room with a very effective air conditioning system was comfortable for the one night that we stayed. With only 24 hours to walk the Plaka, visit the Acropolis Museum and then a bus tour of Athens with Acropolis walking tour, we benefited from this hotel location below Mars Hill and the entrance to the...

The location is perfect walking distance to Acropolis and old town. The hotel is very noisy...indoors noise, outside noise. The so called renovations....hmmm...more like polishing a turd. It was mostly clean. Front desk check in was 'rough around the edges' but still nice. If u are in a pinch for a place, it suffices....otherwise keep looking.

Fantastic views both on balcony of room and especially the Rooftop deck from historic center of Athens Breakfast traditional Greek fare. I love the Greek yogurt and honey. The Acropolis is a short walk away as is the Plaka. We walked the neighborhood late at night to get over jetlag and that was a highlight of our trip There are...

I am giving this hotel a 5 star rating for location and great staff. Normally, a 5 star hotel would consist of a luxury hotel and all amenities, but this one truly deserves it! Staff is amazing, especially Dimitris. So friendly and helpful! The breakfast was great and a variety of fresh food, fruit, meats. View from rooftop is simply...

Stayed here last week, its not anything super fancy, but super clean and the staff was helpful and friendly! Perfect location literally one street over from the Acropolis! We walked everywhere in the city, and only used the metro from the airport! Love the roof terrace overlooking the Acropolis, we had drinks and played games out there some nights, and...

The hotel was just Okay. The pictures on the website are deceiving. The staff was great, and everything was ready when we arrived. The rooms were small and the bathrooms were clean. The beds were hard. The continental breakfast in the morning is good.

I stayed there for 5 nights after my stay in some greek islands. The hotel is in a really good and safe location right under the acropolis and near plaka area. The rooms are very clean and bathroom is really nice and clean and shower has a lot of water cold and hot good pressure. They would clean everyday. They...

The staff at Acropolis View Hotel in Athens were terrific. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them and they strove to make our stay pleasant. Well done. The room was nice but on the small side even for the deluxe room that I booked. The balcony was small but nice with a side view of the Parthenon. We...

I loved the quiet area, but so close to everything. Easy walking distance to the Acropolis and surrounds. Very friendly, helpful staff, breakfast was adequate. The view from the 5th floor to the Acropolis at night was stunning, a big bonus that one could purchase a glass or bottle of wine to enjoy whilst admiring the view.

Great location in a quiet neighborhood. Partial view of the acropolis from my balcony. It was fun walking to Monastiraki and around the acropolis. Extremely narrow shower. I had problems positioning the wall mounted TV. Good WiFi. Excellent rooftop terrace.

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
