I can't select ZERO and I would if I could. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE. Primarily we received the wrong room, even though we booked a double and wrote to them telling them it was our honeymoon. However, we would have accepted this without the following circumstances. After 8weeks of travel, we had learnt a few things. We checked...

I booked a room with my girl for one night. When we checked in i found 2 beds instead of 1 and when i asked to change the room the owner told us that there is no available room with one bed.So we decided to leave but he had other plans on his mind.He locked the door and threatened us that...

The location was walking distance to everything in Athens. The newly opened rooftop patio was a great place for dinner- we ate there both of the nights we were in Athens. The staff was neutral- not amazing, not rude. They still operate on an old school paper and pen system, so I was slightly nervous about our reservation when we...

There was nothing good about our hotel room. It was not worth the price. Room was full of mosquitos (and no we didn't open the windows). Dark. Tiny shower with broken plastic walls. Bad, bad, bad. Would never go back. Location is good and I guess that is how they rent rooms.

The hotel was in a good position but unfortunately the room was very old with shabby furniture. Reception staff weren't very friendly either. Breakfast was basic but to be expected as the hotel is a budget one.

Not fancy or new but a great location, people were very nice, big room, free internet, air conditioning. Simple but great breakfast on rooftop with beautiful view. Right in the middle of shops, restaurants and tourists. Walk to many attractions.

Thoroughly enjoyed breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Parthenon, a great base for exploring. The rooms are clean, and tidy, ignore the dark reception, everything is better once you get to your room.

I booked on travelocity. When I checked out they wouldn't take my credit card. They insisted on cash. I asked if anything had been charged to my card and was told no. I paid with cash. When I returned home I saw my card had been charged for the first night. I called hotel. They insisted I was wrong that...

If I returned to Athens I would stay here again. The hotel is perfectly situated in the Plaka / plaza area with the Acropolis and Zeus attractions only 1-2 minute walk. This place is old town tourist central, located on a cobbled lane way which is only wide enough for one vehicle, but is mainly used as a tourist pathway....

Price is for the location. Walls are not soundproof, air conditioner was stuffy and handles kept falling off. Only good thing was breakfast which was very good. Is fairly expensive but good for how close it is to the Acropolis.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
