Ou family stayed in the Executive Junior Suite which was perfect for the 4 of us. The rooftop and pool was closed for the winter but the sauna was open. Walking distance to the double decker tour. A lot of graffiti in surrounding areas, which made us skeptical but it was safe. We would back late at night and didn't...

Great hotel, comfortable and clean. Staff was very friendly. The sauna was a great amenity after trekking around all day. Walking distance to one of the double decker tour stops. I would skip the breakfast if it isn't included with the room.

I stayed here in the summer after I finished my GCSEs, we booked through British Airways holidays and chose this hotel after good reviews. We flew Club Europe from Heathrow and arrived into Athens late morning, we arrived by metro from the airport, because the hotel is close to a metro station and the metro is very cheap as oppose...

The Melia Hotel is located in the center of Athens. The rooms are beautifully furnished and comfortable, if a little on the small side. Staff very friendly and helpful. Gym room is well equipped; particularly of note is that they have two treadmills, which reduces the chances that you'll have to wait for an hour to get your turn. A...

We really enjoyed Hotel Melia! The staff was super friendly and the accommodations were great. We chose to upgrade when we arrived to get a higher room, a spa tub, and breakfast. I'm glad we did. The spa tub was wonderful and you can have the breakfast delivered to your room or go to the buffet. We got 2 massages...

Staying in Exarchia

Neighbourhood Profile
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
