As many have shared does not look like a good area, but it is Psiri area and lots of good eating nearby and close to the main Square. We stayed here and walked around all the main sites . The breakfest is very good and their rooftop lounge has a great view of the Acropolis.
Rooms are newer, nice views of Acropolis both day and night, we had Acropolis facing room. Everything is in walking distance, Monastraki Square, shopping, restaurants along Athinas St. Nice breakfast included, quiet and clean with friendly staff. We stayed for 8 nights. Convenient tour bus pickup point at hotel Cecil, 2 min. from Arion. Would recommend this hotel.
I truly could not have picked a better hotel for a better value for my 6-day solo vacation. I booked my small single room (emphasis on small) early enough that the price I paid seemed astoundingly low, especially given that there was free breakfast daily (which was so big that I ended up only eating 2 meals a day - one of them being this free breakfast). As an active traveler, I did not spend much time in the room, so the fact that it was small did not bother me at all. I found the bed to be super comfy and the shower had grreat water pressure and heat. The room had a little refrigerator and a safe, and really everything I needed. Several times, I interacted with the hotel staff at the front desk and had the best conversations. Each person who worked was pleasant and iformative. Even the littlest things, like I one time asked for some help on where watch the USA match in the World Cup, and the woman working suggested I just watch from the large common room where there was a tv and she made sure the match was on. I obviously went to see all the main sites/attractions, and everything was 15-20 minutes away walking at most. I also visited several neighborhoods that were walkable, and just so much to do and easy to get from the hotel. I haven't booked a hotel in several years, but this experience made me see the light. I feel like from this stay, I'd now be interested in staying at hotels in the future.…
Fab little hotel in a perfect location. Turn right out of the hotel and you’re in the heart of a thriving area for eating and shopping. Lively and safe atmosphere. Easy walk to everywhere. Reception staff were particularly helpful with enquiries about where to go and how to get to airport etc . Immaculately clean and a nice breakfast with friendly staff. Do go upto the rooftop at night when all is lit up. Had some fabulous food within a two minute walk of the hotel and trundling our suitcases to the metro as a family of 5 at the end of our stay was easy 😊 highly recommend this friendly little hotel in a vibrant area!
Excellent location in the heart of Athens with beautiful rooftop views (especially at night), impeccably clean rooms, and some of the best food we enjoyed on our trip made by Anastasia! She did a wonderful job preparing breakfast buffets each morning and delicious dinners in the evening.
Anastasia was amazing in the restaurant! She was so friendly, helpful and proud of her work. She was amazing!!!!! The food was well prepared, very attentive and clean and friendly. Anastasia made it!!
This was the best part of our tour. Anastasia’s delicious meals, clearly made with love and care, made us feel welcomed and cared for. Her spaghetti Bolognese, roasted chicken and fresh cod were the best meals we had on our tour. Her desserts ranging from chocolate to fruit were delectable! Thank you Anastasia for making us feel so welcomed in Athens. Your kindness and generosity of spirit really made our mealtime’s memorable.
My tour of Greece started and ended in Athens, and so some other members of the group and I stayed at the Arion twice. I enjoyed both stays. The hotel is in a good location - it was easy to walk to various places of interest, and there were lots of restaurants and bars just down the road. The hotel itself was very nice. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was easy to find the left luggage room (ask at reception for the key), and the roof terrace was a great place to sit and have a takeaway lunch. Thank you for everything!
A no-frills but very comfortable and spotlessly clean hotel about five minutes away from the Monastiraki square and metro station. The reception staff was super friendly, not a given in all Greek hotels. The room was large with a super comfortable bed and lots of hard pillows, a definite feature of all Greek hotels it seems. Breakfast was a mostly international buffet offering with some local delicacies such as olives and feta cheese. And the best part is the stunning rooftop with one of the best views of the Acropolis, not too close, not too far. Unfortunately there is no real good bar offering currently but one can still enjoy a coffee with the view.
We had a great experience at this hotel. It is centrally located, and is walkable to most places we wanted to see. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was nice and comfortable. The view from the rooftop terrace is amazing. And the breakfast was really nice. Plus, it’s affordable. We’d definitely stay here again. An added bonus was the very active cafe culture surrounding the hotel.
