Hotel Central is well located in the center of Athens in Plaka. Small rooms and tinny bathroom/shower but at least clean and having all the comfort you need for a short stay in Athens. Avoid the rooms nearby the elevator, cause you really hear it Avoid rooms on the 6 floors which are nearby the elevator and under the roof...

This Hotel is clean, staff are friendly and helpful. The roof bar although only snacks are served we had good wine and a meat plate excellent. View is just great and we were there in January! Location is also very good for restaurants and transport.

I highly recommend the Central Athens Hotel as a very good place to stay when visiting Athens. The quality and price were of great value and we would definitely stay again!! Excellent Location: In the middle of the city and within walking distance to local transportation and the city's delightful sites. Views of the Acropolis from our room and watching...

We spent 5 days at the Central. It was easy to catch the X95 bus from the airport and walk the 4 short blocks to the hotel. We were initially surprised by the small size of the room and bathroom - but we quickly got used to it. Everything was beautifully clean, with great air conditioning so we slept perfectly....

Great value for the price. Very clean room with nice little balcony that has a small table and 2 chairs. Great location. Near most historical sights. Close to 2 metro stations. Many nice restaurants near by. Roof top lounge has a stunning view of the Acropolis. Breakfast buffet was very good and well looked after with friendly staff. Will definitely...

You can't beat the value, Terrace lounge was great, Breakfast good. Close to subway, buses. Old district is spot on for history buffs, staff was very accommodating. I would recommend. Use subway from airport, it's easy and much cheaper then a cab

The location of this hotel is amazing being a mere two minute walk to the main metro station, Syntagma, and the centre of Plaka. It is perfect for tourists because the centre of Plaka is where the hop-on-hop-off bus tours start (highly recommend for an easy way to get to all the main sites without costing a fortune). The view...

Here are some reasons to stay at the Central Hotel: - Location: 2 mins from Syntagma metro station (the connecting station for all lines), bang in the middle of Plaka, 2 mins from the slopes of Acropolis and its narrow streets full of shops and restaurants. - Rooms: comfortable and modern rooms & bathrooms, some with balconies, others with a...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
