Easy walk along pedestrian walkway to Thissio Metro, right near street market (but close the door and window and it is silent and restful), good breakfast, pleasant staff, clean and modern room and bathroom: very comfortable and I do recommend!!! I am not giving an excellent rating because the room smelled of smoke when I arrived, but after I mentioned...

Stayed for 3 nights in late August. Hotel staff were nice, location was excellent. Room was a tad small, bathroom pretty clean, bed was good. It is right on a busy street, so it is fairly noisy as entertainment goes to the early hours of the morning. But for the spot it's in you have to expect that. Breakfast was...

Stayed here 3 nights and found it to be a good choice for Athens. It's within easy walking distance to all the biggies (acropolis, etc.), is on a pedestrian walkway, and is updated and clean. Reception was always helpful when we had questions and while the rooms weren't gigantic, they were of comfortable size. Our street facing room had a...

First of all arrived at the hotel the receptionist wasn't there. He is also working as a waiter at the restaurant. The wifi doesn't work in the room that I have. The bathroom was smelling as sweage. The room is really overpriced it should be half the price to match what the hotel is offering. The shower curtain that is...

They let us check in almost 5 hours early! Which is amazing. The staff was wonderful, the food was good, the location was perfect! (Taxi drivers often got confused, but even so). Definitely recommended.

I was very satisfied by this clean and renovated hotel, right along the pedestrian road that semicircles the Athenian acropolis. The breakfast was rich and of good quality. We were there for two nights and no one came to clean up our room but we did not ask for it either.

The hotel is located in Thissio. The neighbourhood is on the other side of the Akropolis than Plaka and Monastiraki. You can reach these hotspots by foot or metro from the hotel. Thissio has a nice sort of boulevard where the hotel is situated. In the evening there is a market alongside this boulevard. There are also some restaurant nearby...

Booked 4 nights. Writing this with a day and night still to go. Double room with extra bed on the third floor overlooking pedestrian road which hasn't given any noise issues. Lovely views including park and Acropolis. Room is narrow and some people would consider it small but it was modern, clean and all facilities worked well. Breakfast is plenty...

Not only was the room not as advertised but it wasn't even a room-at least the size. Their site advertises their budget rooms as 15m2 (about 162 f2). In reality the room was about 8m2 (86 f2). Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
