We were searching for a hotel near Athens center in a reasonable price and having a possibility to park our van. It turned out it was not that easy to find a hotel fulfilling our criteria but finally we managed and we were happy with our choice. The parking is in the street right behind the corner and it is under constant camera surveillance which was great. The staff at Katerina hotel was very nice and helpful and we also loved a little balcony in our room overlooking a busy street. Moreover, the hotel is really very close to the city center, you can easily walk there and observe all the rush and chaos in narrow Athens streets while walking there.

I've stayed in Katerina for couple of days in October. The hotel was good, nothing fancy, perhaps a bit old-fashioned (tiny & old elevators, a bit "old" vibe in the room) - but all things considered the experience was positive. The room was clean, the staff was friendly & helpful, the location is also really good - close to the centre (yet the district is not great with lots of junkies in the proximity - I've never felt in danger, yet it was a bit disturbing - not the fault of the hotel itself, of course). The breakfast was really good and I'm happy I booked that option - sure, it was a bit repetitive but worth the extra cost. The only thing - with breakfast between 7:30 and 10, sometimes I joined at approx. 9 and the eggs were already cold - so it would be great to try to preserve the heat more, or just replace the eggs more frequently. But it's only a suggestion, overall the stay in the hotel was nice and worth its price! Athens was great in general!

Athens is the place that you should be once in your life:)) The hotel was not so good, despite staff was very helpful. Good-it is located near metro, bad rooms are too small, breakfast very bad and the building has a tiny elevator only one person can fit:)

Great value for money - that’s what you get at Hotel Katerina. And then some. The hotel is situated close to the Metaxourghio Metro station (red line) - it’s easy to reach directly from the airport or from other places in the city. The location is 2 kilometres from the attractive sites in City - eg, Plaka - an easy walk. If you don’t want to walk so far there are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops only minutes away from the hotel. The staff is extremely polite, helpful and caring - everybody at the counter speaks English. Rooms are small, clean and comfy with efficient aircon and balconies. Breakfast - served from 7 to 10.30 AM - is opulent with 3 kinds of eggs, bacon, sausages, fruits, vegetables, cheeses, yoghurt, honey, different kinds of bread and cakes, juice, tea, coffee… You can’t possibly want more. In short; Hotel Katerina is 3-star quality in perfection.

Horrible experience. Rooms are way too small, worse than expected. The breakfast was boring, as it was the same for a week and we were served only the simolest dishes, nothing traditional or special. Our flight was in the night and check out was in the morning, we asked them to keep our belongings in a spare room but they responded that they will be able to do that only in return for money, so they do not have any luggage room.

Response from Hotel Athens, Υπεύθυνος at Hotel Katerina
Responded 26 Jul 2022
We are trying to locate your reservation but we can't find anything under your name within the last few months. We are a 3 star hotel and we have served the same breakfast buffet for years now and we never had any complaints for the quality or the variety included. For the luggage we have a storage room in our hotel, It's free of charge and we can keep them as long as you need even for days for customers who travel around the Greek Islands. We never charged a customer for keeping the luggages in our hotel. Our hotel is located in Athens central in the Metaxourgeio area. Are you certain we are reviewing the hotel you stayed at? For any additional information, we are always at your disposal. Kind regards, Katerina Hotel

Stayed here for a week with my husband and had a great time! Very good value for money, and everything you may wish to see in Athens is within comfortable walking distance. The room was clean and surprisingly spacious - there was even a balcony. The room also had a clean bathroom, a good shower, and good air conditioning. The breakfast was alright but there are many nice bakeries nearby. The reception offers 24h service and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They helped us get a taxi ready for our departure and they also called to make sure we had woken up. About the area - we didn't do our research on Metaxiurgeio, and while it may not be the fanciest, the area around Karaiskaiki square (where the hotel is located) felt perfectly safe in the daytime. We always took a taxi back to the hotel when we stayed out late (use Beat app to avoid tourist fares). All in all, I would recommend this hotel! Thank you for a nice stay :)

We needed to stay for 2 days in a hotel due to constructions in our house and hotel Katerina was the perfect choice! The man in the reception,Giannis was very helpful and because he saw we were very exhausted he upgraded our room and gave us the Suite! The balcony was big with view around the city ! It was such a lovely gesture. Hotel is next to a metro station which is very convenient.Rooms are very clean and all the staff is smiling! Breakfast is a plus because it’s very fresh and tasty ! The waiting area in the reception is big and nice! The perfect choice for staying in the center of Athens!

Quaint Boutique Hotel, with lovely rooms, and impeccable service. Concierge's are helpful, and knowledgable. Hotel is located next to a busy circular intersection with some fabulous little hidden restaurants. Rooms are not huge, but very comfortable, and clean. This hotel is within walking distance to Montesearaki, the MAIN CITY CENTER PLAKKA.
