Better than what we expected by the photos (Booking and Trip), really clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. 24h reception with the possibility to leave the lugagge stored. With towels and amenities.
Cheap nasty noisy uncomfortable. Poor Greeks and penny-pinching tourists stay here. I booked in error and now my intended stay in a similarly-named hotel won't happen as it is fully booked. Air conditioning does not work, wifi unreliable. Shockingly bad.
Hotel is a bargain for Monastiraki area. It took less than 10 minutes to walk from Metro station. Advertised as a 1 star hotel, I guess because no restaurant. Maybe also because no elevator to rooms. If you don't mind lugging your stuff up the...More
Friendly staff were always there to help out at reception. The place was clean and tidy. Great location as it was 5 minutes to Monastiraki and 10 to Omonia.
Close to both but far enough to avoid the buzzing sounds of the city if you...More
My wife and I stayed in the hotel for Spring Week. Our first impression was surprise to see so much graffiti around the hotel but days after we found that graffiti is present almost in every corner in Athens. The hotel is basic as well...More
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a
sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
