I wasn't originally booked here. I just walked in. It's near the main road and close to Omnia metro. Rooms were spacious and bright. Internet connection was strong. Reception was helpful too. Highly recommended.

The hotel situated a 2 min walk from the Omonia metro station. To get there was very easy from the airport, getting the blue line from the airport, stopping at Syntagma station and change to the red line. I booked a budget room but still had a balcony over looking a back street, which is still good. Bathroom was OK,... More

Diros hotel is located at Omonia which is walking distance to the metro station. The hotel was clean. We stayed there for three nights. However, we had to share the iron with other guests which was a bummer. Also access to the bus station is not too great as the busses stop at Syntagma square and you need to take... More

Very centrally located just three minutes' walk from Omonias Square and the metro. The best thing for me were the small (but big enough to seat a family) terraces that each room has. They come with table and chairs and -depending on how far up you are- with wonderful views of the city.

We didn't like the bathroom, it was a mess because the toilet was leaking. This happened to more people in the hotel. The shower was also not good... The hotel in general looks new until you go to the bathroom... Apart from that we had a nice stay. Nice staff although they don't know where to tell you to go... More

Great location, just a few meters from Omonia, located on a busy street. Friendly, English speaking staff. Excellent WiFi for a mobile device. Entrance looks nice. Elevator available. Clean room. We had a quiet room at the back with the view of a concrete wall, but as we only used the room to sleep, it didn't bother us. The shower... More

As all of the bellow tourists already wrote, the location and the prices are ok. What I would like to point out is that the breakfast (even if it costs 5 euro), it's not even worth 1 euro. They have told us that we will get: coffee (it's like the German style ones: only colored water that tastes awful), orange... More

We stayed there for one night. It's near the metro station and close to the tourist district. Price is good. It's not the cleanest hotel I've seen but not so bad too. I think 35€ which we paid for a room was a good price for such location. All the best

Very noisy even with bought earplugs. Bathroom patched up, chrome off shower hose handle which you have to hold as no way of hanging up. When you turn hot water tap on, you... More

Staying in Omonia

Neighbourhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
