Our room in the Ikaros Art hotel was very spacious, elegant and had everything we needed. The large terrasse with seaview was the highlight of it. Breakfast is good too and served on a rooftop terrasse. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Eventhough the hotel is elegant, the atmosphere is easygoing, which made us feel very comfortable.
A great little find in an excellent location. The beach is a two minute walk ( make sure you nab a sun bed in front of Deja Vue cafe - brilliant service) and one minute to the shop. Central to everything really!! It has a tiny lift up to a beautifully decorated room. The view isn’t great, but I enjoyed watching the cats and locals go about their day. Bring a mug if you want a cup of tea, as the cups are tiny. There’s a small fridge big enough for keeping your mixers cold, and the air conditioning works great so nice and cool in the evening. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Very nice people, and they have a gorgeous dog called Argos, always a bonus 🥰 We booked this last minute, as our original accommodation was cancelled, so glad it was because this place is lovely.
We stayed at the Ikaros for 1 night as a family of 4. We had 2 rooms next to each other. Both were nicely decorated and very comfortable with all mod cons, clean bathrooms and good air con. The rooms also had a balcony which was a bonus. The staff were friendly and the location is fantastic, right in the centre of town. There was a a paid parking place within 2 mins of the hotel but you could probably also park on the street. All in all we had a great stay at Ikaros and would highly recommend!
My boyfriend and I turned up and got upgraded to a nicer room as it was free. Excellent location, sparkling clean, modern. There’s a lift so handy if you have a giant suitcase like I had. Amazing, friendly, helpful staff and owners. Nothing is a problem and they always greet you with a smile. Parking can be arranged right next door for 3 euro a day. We also got washing organised abs it was ready that night! We got our towels changed and bed made daily. There’s a rooftop terrace where breakfast is served and it’s also a bar at nighttime. It’s a 3-minute walk to the nearest beach in town, also excellent location as it’s right in town. These are new owners and they do their best to make your stay enjoyable and with a smile. Lovely, big, airy rooms. Definitely recommend it!
The hotel was a perfect location but that is where it ends. The staff were rude and unqualified for their jobs. Cash is King? Seems to be here where they insisted on cash and no cards. Get fit as the lift was not working and we learned from locals has not been working for years!! Plenty of places that will meet your expectations - this will
Lift not working, staff advised that the lift was out of order from the beginning of the season and could not say if or when it would be fixed, so 6 sets of stairs was a major drawback. tired room, no actual view, good location, but I would not recommend to stay there .
We stayed here for 11 nights in September. Small family run hotel in a very quiet side street but only 100 metres from both the beach and town centre, location is superb. Family run hotel and all staff are very friendly and helpful, even at 2.00am when we arrived. We stayed in room 301 which we found to be very clean and tidy but is a bit dated. Bedding and towels were changed every other day !! Not a great view from our balcony but we did know we had a "city" view. The only down side to our stay is that the lift is not working, the receptionist told us that it hadn't been working since they took over the hotel. We were on the 3rd floor and had to climb 6 flights of stairs to access our room. Not a major problem for us but could easily be for visitors with a medical condition etc... We did not eat her so cannot comment on the food or drinks.…
Friendly family run small Hotel in a central location Agios Nikolaos. One of the many local beaches is less than 5 minutes walk, the lake is equally close. The Hotel is situated in a quiet back street, but the lively bars and restaurants along the Lake, Port and beaches are within 5 minutes walk. The friendly welcome, large room with full air conditioning, and location make this a perfect base from which to explore Crete.
The hotel is located on a quiet street within a short walk of the lovely beach cove at Aghios Nikolaos. It’s also just a few minutes longer walk in the opposite direction to the beautiful lake so it’s ideally situated to access everything that the resort has to offer. We went in late October and breakfast was not an option and the roof top bar which had been mentioned by so many reviewers was also closed (it appears until next year), this was a bit of a disappointment. We stayed in a deluxe double studio on the third floor and the room was large, clean and nicely furnished with two sofas, a four poster bed and a balcony overlooking the street (not high enough for a sea view). The bathroom decor was a bit dated and you couldn’t help but soak the floor when using the shower but it was clean and functional. The considerable drawback with the room was that the mattress was incredibly firm, so much so that it wasn’t comfortable but maybe that’s a personal preference. Overall good location and good VFM. …
The hotel is located only five minutes walking from town centre. My room was clean and spacious, had an excellent sleep. The money for value was great. I strongly recommend this hotel for a nice stay in Agios Nikolaos.
