We only stayed here for one night as a stop over on our tour of Crete, which was not enough to really appreciate the surrounding areas and beauty of this place. You really are very high up here and the views from Thalori are truly amazing and beautiful. We had driven from Kato Zakros a long drive and this is... More

We stayed at Thalori retreat for 6 nights. Leaving this wonderful place, that was also a stage for some of the best hospitality we've ever had, was very hard. Thalori is one of the best setups to spend a relaxing time. Adjacent to Mt. Kofinas (1231 m) and to Agios Ioannis bay, one can enjoy hiking, horse riding, swimming and... More

We were a party of four, who split two great rooms for 3 nights. We enjoyed Popi and Marcus' hospitality, the simple but great food and the breathtaking views. The beach is also amazing, and so was our short hike to Mt. Kofinas. Highly recommended!

Inadequate presence of the staff and costumer care, inadequate room installations, very expensive, in the middle of nowhere (no shops, no mini-markets, no nothing), no decent outdoors activities planned. It doesnt worth the trouble ascenting on the mountain. Definitely not visiting again.

We were in Thalori for 3 spectacular nights. Popi and all the staff were friendly, accommodating, pleasant and always smiling. The guest house was very clean tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The views magnificent and allowed some much needed downtime. We highly recommend to anyone looking to meet a more authentic Cretan experience.

We spent 3 nights in Thalori and we enjoyed very much our stay. We were staying in the new room in a little 5 units cottages detached from the main "resort". The view from the terrace was just amazing ! Markos and his wife Popi are great host. When we arrived a young girl Katerina welcomed us. Because the village... More

The family started to rebuild a virtually deserted mountain village 15 years ago. 5 years later they were open for business providing employment for the remaining inhabitants. Superbly and tastefully restored with all modern comforts, including individual wi-fi connection in each room. Perfect location to just get away from it all or take advantage of the numerous activities that are... More

Best place on Crete! Beautiful Traditional houses! Amazing view on the sea and mountains. Delicious homemade Cretan food, fresh fish and Lamb on the fire. The owner Markos is a great host and tourgide. We did a boattrip and had some free hours at a private cove. Amazing!!!! Kids loved the pool and the off-road rides in Markos' jeep. I... More
