I had a wonderful stay here. It's a small and impressively run hotel that seemed to have a mix of tourists and business people staying. My room (407) was spotless and, like the rest of the hotel, very well kept. My balcony was almost as big as my room and I had a great view of the mountain and could also see the sea to my right over the roof of the St Peter Monastery. It was perfectly placed - practically on the seafront, away from the main centre, but only a minute or two's walk to the old town and Lion Fountain. The breakfast buffet was fresh, varied and kept very well stocked: I tended to have the fresh bread, manouri cheese, some salad followed by yoghurt and honey, and there was an impressive selection of dinky home-made cakes, biscuits and pastries each morning. One thing that struck me is that the Atrion seemed to be the only hotel I've stayed in for many years where the hot water was instant and plentiful, the wifi was consistently good, there was no ropey grouting and my room card did not lose its data at any point! The location, as with many ports, is surrounded by some faded grandeur, but it is in a quiet residential street and I felt completely safe alone and walking everywhere. The Atrion suited me perfectly and would not hesitate to visit again. Top tip - if you're heading to the harbour or the fish tavernas, go down Chronaki Street, turn right and walk to the end of the street to cross the road at the roundabout with the 3 dolphins where there's a pedestrian crossing.

I stayed here two nights. The decor is very modern--lots of metal and glass. Staff courteous and helpful. The room was comfortable, and the hot breakfast buffet was good. Actually, they have a restaurant that they don't seem to advertise much, I suspect it mostly caters to groups, but I had a pleasant meal my second night. My only complaint is that the Wifi is rather iffy--a weak signal that kept conking out.

Great stay at the hotel. My room was clean and comfortable and felt like great value for the price. The reception staff really went above and beyond: I arrived way before the check-in time -- not only did reception hold my bags, but also called housekeeping to prioritize my room which ended up allowing me to check in two hours early. On checkout I had a very early morning flight; since I would miss breakfast the hotel very kindly had a takeaway box waiting for me.

A wonderful hotel for location, cleanliness and value for money. The location is great for getting boat trips. About a 5 minute walk into town and also close to harbor and Historical Museum of Crete where they pick you up for excursions.

My 3 night stay at Atrion Hotel was ok, room 107 was clean. No tea or coffee refreshments in the room. Breakfast was mediocre, staff however are rude. You have to ask receptionist to order a drink from the bar and when the bartender does come out she either ignores you or serves you something you didn’t order. The male receptionist is very rude and needs to brush up on his customer service. When it came to checking out, he charged me what I’ve already paid for. He raised his voice, refused to let me take my bag when leaving to get cash from an ATM machine. Also it’s better to pay cash as their card machines are faulty.

Not sure why this hotel is only 3 star would give it 4. Rooms are nice -clean and modern with nice balcony. Shower had amazing power. Location is perfect for city break...only 3-5 minute walk from centre and same to fortress on harbour front. Reception staff super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good but could be hotter...was always just lukewarm. No proper parking at hotel but place called porto parking 1 minute from hotel was awesome...cost us only €20 for 5 days. Highly recommend! We would def stay here again at time of year when you don't need a pool.

Stayed 15 nights, an absolute pleasure. Fabulous staff in Reception, Restaurant/Breakfast area, Maid/room service, so friendly, genuine, pleasant and helpful. Breakfast a particular delight, huge buffet style with abundance for all. Lovely peaceful outside garden area as well as inside for dining. Reduced rates for city centre parking, centre of Heraklion or sea promenade within 2 mins walk. Just brilliant all round. Thanks to all the staff, a fabulous base for any type of visit. 5 stars from us whatever the official rating says.

The hotel is greatly located, the rooms are very big and comfortable and the staff members were the most helpful team that I have ever seen in my life. Extra credit to both men on the front desk (among many others). I had a dental urgency (wisdom teeth coming out and hurting a lot due to an infection) and they not only managed to help me find a dental clinic (on holiday date), a hospital instead (because all the clinics were closed), provide me with some ice and book me a cab to get there as soon as possible, all in less that 10 minutes. Furthermore, once I left the hotel I forgot my bag in there (with my laptop and passport inside!!) and they happily and quickly send to me via a bus (so that a taxi would not charge me more than 300 euros to bring me the bag to the other side of the island - we could not wait as we urgently needed the passports-). They carefully prepared the bag with plastic film and included a warning sign (“fragil, please be extra careful”) and they not even let me given them a (MUCH deserved) tip!! So much respect for that work ethic, simple marvelous. Besides all of the above (if this was not enough), the hotel had a very nice terrace where we had dinner and it was lovely. If you ever go to Heraklion, definitively Atrion Hotel will be a fantastic option!!

I had a very pleasant two night stay at the end of a longer trip to Crete, the hotel is very nice and convenient for the old harbour and old town with lots of convenient restaurants and cafes. The hotel was clean wiith well placed hand sanitization and a fairly typical greek breakfast.
