This was a great place to stay at (we were a family with two kids- 3 & 5 yrs..). Nikos (owner) and the staff did everything they could to make us feel at home (actually to feel at a 5-star hotel). Take some time to get up from the beach (or anything around) with small local road.

We stayed in Villa Mala for four nights. True, the village is far away from the beach and the road is narrow but if you are looking for an untouched (not artificially dressed-up cretan village) with a lot of local atmosphere, you should give it a try. But be aware of the fact that there is not really anything else...

I am going to Greece for more than 25 years and I stayed in Villa Mala for 3 nights looking for the authentic "Greece". The hotel is located in a mountain village overlooking the south coast of Crete providing you a extraordinary view on the Libyan sea. Villas are clean, new and their quality in term of comfort and design...

one of the best place to go for relax and find some adventure.... the place is marvelus with amazing nature.... the food is tradisional local and is so so good....!!!!!!! one of the best rooms to find there,comfortable with everything inside. And the people are so friendly.....you can find everything you want..

We stayed there for 4 nights , with another couple that had also three children. We had the menta villa, they had the dictamos one. Great resort, great get away, fantastic view of the sea and surrounding mountains, clean air, trekking paths, roads for 4x4 jeeps, excellent freshly prepared food, polite, friendly and smiling faces, made our stay exactly what we needed.
