A small and intimate hotel, perfectly situated in Rethymnon's old town. Right next to a charming church whose bells gently wakes you up (not too early) in the morning, and with just a few minutes walking distance to the beach, harbour and restaurants. The hotel rooms are situated above a small and charming shop. The room had a good size,...

Rethymnon is a beautiful little town on the island of Crete and Vetera suites is the jewel in its midst. It is one of the most frequently photographed buildings because of its wooden Turkish kiosk on the upper side, the majestic stone Venetian windows in the middle and the pretty little art shop on the ground floor. Hotel and art...

I stayed at Vetera Suites in mid June with my boyfriend and had a superb time. The room was exceptionally beautiful, furnished with antiques and a historic site itself. The upper side of a window frame bears the date 1821 and dates from the Ottoman period. Another blind window in the room goes back to the much earlier period of...

This was a charming place to stay (older, with character) within walking distance of everything in the old town. The owners were always available during the day, working in the little shop downstairs. We rented a split level suite which had a double bed upstairs and a single bed downstairs, along with a kitchenette and dining table. We were missing...

Small but cozy hotel in the very center of rethymnon old town. Charming rooms, ideal for a romantic weekend or short stay. Bathroom is somewhat small but i cannot fault this place for anything else. A place where i would certainly go back.

Loved this little place. Decor and hospitality were exceptional. Only downfalls are no lift, not accessible by car and street parking is extremely limited.

Rethymnon was the last place we visited on our honeymoon and we had the most amazing time, made all the better by this hotel. The owners made us feel very welcome and the rooms were spectacular - traditional features, romantic touches, elegant decor - this place has it all. I think we spent about 3 hours the first morning just...

We - my wife, me and our 8 year old son - stayed in August for one week in the Vetera (Dionne Suite). This hotel is very small (4 rooms) and really beautiful. An old and very well renovated venetian building in the Old Town of Rethymno. Central but nevertheless very quiet during the night. Our suite (two level) was...

I stayed here recently during my honeymoon trip to Crete. My fiance and I both loved it and wished that we had more time to stay. The owners are a couple who run it with the help of their daughter. The hotel is a 17th Century Venetian building, that even though it is beautifully restored, the stone and wood details...

As a family with 2 college-aged kids we found this hotel had just what we wanted: a great sense of history but very comfortable, fantastic location - both convenient for seeing the town and yet quiet, with great hosts who offered help in planning restaurants etc., and a sumptuous Greek breakfast for 7 Euros. Also a great value. Bathrooms are...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A restored building in the Old Town of Rethymnon. It combines features of Venetian and Turkish architecture while offering all modern comforts and conveniences. Every room has its own individual character and style. The blue Cyane gives off a soft and discreet romantic atmosphere; the red Arethusa possesses the warmth of Cretan tradition; the sensuous Dione welcomes you into the comfort of its Turkish space; and the bright Phaenna breathes through the imposing wooden structure. ... more   less
