Pearl Beach sits on the northern coast of Crete overlooking the Aegean Sea. It's in a bustling resort, steps away from the beach and a short drive to the centre of the town of Rethymnon. Crete is the largest of the Greek islands and is known for its beaches and archaeological sites. The hotel's interiors are bright and fresh with soft furnishings. Outside, there's a main swimming pool, a separate kids' pool and a surrounding sun terrace. Here you can relax with a drink from the poolside bar, or sit in the garden area with its palm trees that provide natural shade. The hotel has a gym and the spa has an indoor pool, whirlpool, Finnish sauna, steam room and massage rooms. The hotel is on the promenade that leads out to the historic centre of Rethymnon, and the sandy beach is in front of the hotel. The hotel has a private area on the beach reserved for guests. Rethymnon beach has been awarded a Blue Flag for cleanliness. A short stroll from the hotel you'll find several cafes.

Arrived late at night ,staff were lovely and brought us food up to the room All the staff were lovely especially pool bar and reception. Couple of people in the restaurant need to smile a bit and interact with holidaymakers, especially the freshly cooked fish, meat counter Food was mostly ok but the restaurant was very noisy and didn't flow well, too small for the size of the hotel. Always had to wait for dishes to be refilled and desserts were not always replaced. Fresh cooked pancakes and eggs each morning. You could make your own fresh orange juice if you don't mind queuing, this queue use to block up the walkways for others so the juicer could maybe be moved to a better area. Eat outside for a more relaxing atmosphere Food at the pool bar was very nice ,evening drinks from the bar quite expensive. Pools were nice but very cold, not many sun beds in the sun until the afternoon. Some decent entertainment ,didn't see it every night. The room was average,a bit noisy at the front of the hotel ,luckily the evenings were cool enough to have the doors shut but still needed air buds to sleep some nights.Bedroom was clean and sheets and towels changed regularly. Maybe more drawers in the room would be helpful Free safe in the room . Hairdryer was not great, take your own if you have long hair. Bathroom really let the room down,2 star at best. Very dated and in need of an upgrade. Shower was extremely slow and hard to get your whole body under it lacked any pressure. We mentioned this at reception and the shower head was changed which really didn't make a difference. Bathroom smelt awful when you had been out for the day and toilet hadn't been used, some tiles chipped and grout had started to go black Area was very nice ,about a 25 minute walk into the old town which is so beautiful, great restaurants, shops and history to see. €6 for a cab if you don't want to walk. Nice beach over the road ,the hotel has its own area but you have to pay €7 for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella, not too bad but if you go down the beach a tiny bit you get free beds and just pay for your drinks which are very reasonable and we had really nice food in a couple of the beach bars. A couple of supermarkets ,shops and restaurants near by. If we went again we would pay a bit more and stay at the Aegean Beach which is attached to this hotel

Hotel's Favourite
Visited in October 2022 with my boyfriend, having read great reviews, and was still pleasantly surprised at just how well we were received and how fantastic the staff is. The room (number 206) had a lovely balcony with a pretty view of the ocean and was spacious, clean and well laid out. Among the things that doesn’t always turn out great, here are a few from The Pearl Beach Hotel: Aircon worked like a charm, the blinds kept the light out, bath tub had non slip bottom and the safe was great (not one of those flimsy horrible things with keys). On top of this, the hotel is located in a great spot, just a nice stroll away from Old Town and the fortress and all the convenient stores in the area. The only thing I want to mention, is that you can hear a lot of traffic and quite a lot of “hotel sounds” from the rooms and the restaurant gets a bit noisy if you are sensitive to sounds, as I am, but this is easily remedied by bringing ear plugs. :) I had previously been in touch with the hotel to ask if vegan food could be made available to me and was assured it would be no problem. The maitre was always very helpful in assisting me and I had no problem finding things to eat, but I would advise the hotel that a vegan sign (they had a “vegetarian” one) would help the guests and be great for the times when the maitre is otherwise busy or you just want to be able to choose on your own. Also: signs for side dishes would have been fantastic too and… maybe some more options for breakfast (like plant based yoghurt) and a dessert every once in a while. (I also want to point out that I didn’t ask for any of these things as I am sure they might have been able to help me!) The evening entertainment was a treat! I especially loved the amazingly skilled Greek dancers and the engaging herb lesson! (Wish I hadn’t caught a cold or we would have attended all of the evenings!) The SPA is a gem, and the staff is great. My bf was very happy with his massage and I loved my treatment. I was surprised that the “jacuzzi” wasn’t a hot tub, only a bubbly tub, but it was nice still. I especially want to thank the staff for how well they handled the stormy days when the hotel’s lounge was filled with people and I am sure they were a lot busier than usual. They handled it beautifully, and always with a smile. Also: thank you so much for being so kind and helpful, sending food up to our room etc, when I got a cold! It turned out to not be covid but I didn’t want to risk it and I am ever so thankful for the extra service! We will be back, and we have already recommended you to quite a few people. Ta leme!

Firstly I don’t think adjoining rooms should be given to guests who are not on the same booking we had room 52 connected to room 51 sound proofing was poor we could hear EVERYTHING! room is on the lower ground the patio area for us was unusable overlooked by room 51 and eight rooms opposite, old piece of fake grass , mud and random paving which was unsafe, in the room only one electrical socket near the bed which did not work and was loose ( mentioned in another review by someone else) bathroom more like 2star just to save on the response from the hotel I have attached all the pictures. We like lots of other traveler's get to the room unpack and begin the holiday by the time you see everything the next day who wants to or should have to complain and move rooms , breakfast was fine evening buffet bit poor we ate out 4 from the 7 nights , €7 per day for loungers on the beach best part pool bar for lunch, entertainment hit and miss demonstration on how to make tea! Really!!

The hotel is very good with attentive staff, comfortable rooms and beds, two lovely pools with sufficient loungers, when we went, and access to the hotel beach just across the road, where it was easy to have drinks and food served to your area. The beach was clean with lovely clear water. The hotel is situated at the end of the town about a 2 km walk to the centre along the promenade with taxis available if needed. The town has plenty of alleys and streets to wander through and the fortezza to visit on the hill side. There are many restaurants and cafes to stop and enjoy the atmosphere

One of the best hotels and resorts that I've been to. Twin hotels - I stayed in the Aegean Pearl - my room had it's own simiing pool. Mediterranean cuisine with some 'English' dishes - excellent. Very good hotel staff (we kiaised with Uli)

Some of the friendliest staff you could ever wish to meet, very clean and tidy. We didn't try the gym but the pool was spotless and the beer was cold. Breakfast and dinner were very good with attentive service and a varied menu to keep everybody happy.

The hotel is rated 4 stars, but I have to say that in our eyes it is definitely 5 stars plus. The staff were very pleasant and breakfast had a wonderful choice. The cleaning ladies do an amazing job and would always say Kaliméra with a smile. The restaurant staff and reception staff also always happy to help. The rooms were very clean and the surrounding areas were spotless. We have already booked for next year

I have lived on the island quite a time ago, now back and we stayed in the Pearl beach. Excellent hotel, good food and friendly staff. Good entertainment overall, and a lovely pool area, the beach nearby with an excellent service. The price of the food and drinks was fair and the quality very good, served fast and friendly. I would recommend the hotel for sure to friends and family. Thanks a lot for your effort to make this a great place to stay. Theunis
