First of all, it was a truly nice experience. It is a luxurious resort no doubt about it. The food is nice and everybody very friendly. The check-in was efficient done outside because of the corona limitations. If you own a smartphone you can download an app from the hotel to reserve your mealtimes, which is required. Nevertheless there are some - minor - flaws: Shampoo, hair conditioner and shower gel should be replaced when empty without asking for. Some People didn’t adhere to their located eating times, which results that you have to wait for a free table. I found it not acceptable to see guests in swimwear at the restaurant. Later on, they opened the indoor dining. A bit short of personnel because of Covid. Also on the beach, if you go there after 10 a.m. no more free sun beds but on many of them you see nobody. Also no desinfection of the sun beds, as it should be. Covid protection was OK, more or less, we didn’t have to show our vaccination certificate, also on arrival at the airport (Chania) the controls were very rudimentary.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel on a half board basis. We were slightly concerned due to our strict dietary requirements and if the hotel would be able to accommodate. We both follow a strict Hindu satvic diet which means no meat, fish, eggs onions or garlic. With that said, I must say I’m so impressed by Cecilia Bakker, that works in the F&B department. Every morning and evening she has personally taken full accountability that sufficient and a variety of starters, mains and desserts be served to us. She often personally surprises us with different dishes and warmly provides more than we can possibly eat. Each evening we’ve been so impressed and this has continued throughout the trip. I would like to take this opportunity say a big heart felt thank you to her for making our trip so special and amazing. I certainly hope senior management recognise her efforts, I might also add she has often stayed back after her core hours to ensure we’ve been sufficiently catered for - above and beyond our expectations, only with a smiling face ever ready to be helpful!

ROOMS: we booked a garden bungalow, there is one king-size comfortable bed and one extra bed for one person. There are also spacious bathroom with shower, balcony and air conditioning. Nothing special and deserves an extra compliment. FOOD: breakfast is really various and tasty. Eggs, fish, meat - you can find everything you need. Also you can make your own Greek yoghurt, try different veggies, fruits and also sweets. Every day they serve 2-3 types of fresh juices and smoothies. BEACH: sand beach but some areas near the sea are covered by small pebbles. Spacious beach zone with big amount of sun beds under special umbrellas. There is also bar with special tables for guests where you can buy cocktails, alcohol, soft drinks and some snacks. LOCATION: 10min drive to the Rethymno centre, 5 min walk to the Zisis tavern - I very recommend you to have a lunch/dinner there! FACILITIES: big pool, restaurants with Mediterranean cuisine, small shops on the hotel territory: grocery, clothes like swim wear/t-shirts/flip flops/bags etc, greek products (oil, soap) and souvenirs, big free parking zone. You can also send postcards from the hotel. We have bottle of wine due to our honeymoon and B-Day cake on my Birthday which was very nice :) STAFF&SERVICE: staff is very helpful and polite but cleaning may be much better: they don’t refill used shampoos/body wash bottles, don’t throw spoiled fruits if we forgot/didn’t see in time.

The property is a smart beach and pool hotel holiday complex with multiple restaurants and bars, shops, spa, gym etc. You need never leave, and might not want to. The rooms are a good size and good standard, and the sea view balconies give you just that. The food and dining are everywhere very good, with variety in the main buffet throughout our stay. The key to this hotel are the staff - and I don't just mean they are warm hearted (which they are in spades). Things like moving the diners from outside to inside during rain are done swiftly and professionally. Warning of possible building work noise near your room. A masseur (Matthius) who came in on his day off to take a single 8.30am booking. The guy running the beach volleyball wants his team to win. All in all, this is the right place to stay for a 5 star holiday. (The COVID security was pretty hot - even gloves at the buffet. And the staff certainly were onto all the rules. Not just for show. Includes a test centre) No hesitation recommending.

The service and staff were so committed to making us feel relaxed, safe and supported to have a rejuvenating holiday. The hotel was super clean and in good condition and the COVID measures were the best I have encountered thus far at any hotel. One of the staff at reception Nektaria went beyond the call of duty to help us with birthday arrangements and anything else we needed. Maria at the bar was exceptional. She made one feel as though the only thing that mattered was for you to feel relaxed and happy in that moment. The beach was very big, sandy and clean and while the sea had waves, it was clean and fun for the family. The super slides kept our kids entertained and the lifesavers were also very attentive. I also loved that there is a church on site to light ones candle and say one’s prayers. There is also a nun from Monastery of Saint Irene that comes 3 times a week to sell crosses and other goods made my the nuns. I found talking to her very helpful and beautiful. I loved this resort. All in all it was an awesome experience and we would go back again!
