We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. The R1 room is a real masterpiece in fact of landscape and calm. We had to change the room cause of a misunderstanding, but the staff was really kind and professional. The hotel is well located compared to the chora.

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Castro and it was perfect. First of all Folegandros is a beautiful place: narrow streets, secluded beaches, kind people, white houses and an amazing atmosphere. Hotel Castro is located in the middle of Chora (senter). The hotel has a roof terrace with a stunning view of the Church Panagia on top of a hill...

I'm surprised to see such a negative review below mine for Hotel Castro -- that was not our experience at all!! We stayed (as a couple) in July 2014 for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The location was perfect, and the views are absolutely breathtaking. When we arrived, Mrs. Danassi sat down with us and gave us a...

I am quite sad to write this negative review for an island in my county...But i am quite obliged to do this in order to help some other tourists to avoid the wrongs...,so as the unprofessional business people to be isolated !!! In Folegandros staying in a hotel is quite expensive and without value for money...at all .My bad luck...

Spent three nights there. Good position, great view, small but nice terraces (roof terrace available for all guests). Small but clean and well furnished rooms. No A/C, wi-fi only at reception. Good value for money.

I spent one night on Folegandros last week as a side excursion from Santorini. It was still the low season so we decided not to make reservations ahead of time. We checked out a few places upon arrival and I'm glad I stumbled upon this place! It is tucked away off of the main square. It was definitely the best...

Oh gee, what a marvellous days we spent in mid June 2013! A warm greeting to the lady who takes care the guest house because she was lovable & helpful. We stayed in the "roof" Room R1, one double room (double bed) with a private big terrace and an impressive sea view! We are looking forward to coming back!! Thanks...

Friendly and clean, this was a great find on Folegandros. The Castro is in the middle of everything and the views are stunning. We stayed in the room on the roof with the private patio. It was stunningly beautiful and wonderfully private, but know that it does get quite hot in the room during the day so A/C is needed...

Hotel Castro is a unique place to stay when visiting the island of folegandros. It is situated inside the pls castle and has breathtaking views on the "caldera". It is very convenient because you are very close to all tavernas, bars and shops, but in no way you have noise coming from the crowded places. The owner is very professional...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Castro is the patrimonial house of the Danassi's family, owned by them for the last five generations. It is a part of the northern side of the medieval Castle (Castro) and it is structured on levels according to the morphology of the ground. More precisely, its north side is located on a cliff with a vertical height of 130 meters above the sea level. Its south side has a fantastic view of Chora (the central town of the island) while the rooms in the ground floor, with their porches, communicate with the small road of the Castro area. Quoting the words of the famous Greek modern painter Alekos Fassianos written in our Guestbook: "Here, you live into the medieval life, regenerated with the real picture of the past time" Hotel Castro is included in the traditional lodgings, B'Category. ... more   less
