So, hotel looks beautiful, rooms look great, awesome view... but when you open the window, you get visitors, not small but big spiders, solution: dont open the window.. but wait, then the room becomes an oven ! Its the first time we book in a hotel-boat and maaayyybe this is normal, but what the hell. Also, breakfast is poor. Copenhagen...

My husband was skeptical when I told him I booked a room for a couple of nights at CPH Living. We could have booked almost any luxury hotel, but the idea of staying in hotel on a converted barge on a canal in the center of the city (within easy walking distance of Tivoli Gardens) really appealed to me. We...

It's a boat - awesome and open. One entire side of the room is broken into windows with a delightful view of the canal and boat socialization. Even the bathroom shower area has a view of the canal through the room; however, the lower half is tinted. Window screens are good at blocking out light but not sound. With note...

I was apprehensive about our stay in a boat in a city I’d not been to, but was pleasantly surprised. I read other reviews and was reassured. OMG, they understated the accommodation! I loved looking out at the water, the boats and the city views. One night, I think Friday, there was a wonderful fireworks display from Tivoli Gardens. We...

This 12-room hotel is a converted boat moored in a prime canal location. The rooms are Ikea-like with the canal-facing wall floor-to-ceiling windows: sightseeing cruises wave to us as they go by. Fortunately, they have shades, since the shower has a glass wall! The breakfast is Spartan and there are no toiletries (not even washcloths), so BYO. Unbeatable location in...

Stayed here for 3 nights and was amazed at the tranquil sights both in the day and at night. Pros: - Great view across the river. The sunsets during the summer gives the Copenhagen backdrop a very picturesque view that one might not expect to see in a developed city. - Modern design and well-furnished. All-day free hot drinks are...

This was definitely not what we expected. The rooms very small and need updating, bathrooms are Ok and towels are grey - sitting right off the street/pier. Front office personnel are not there after 6 pm... Breakfast is less than a continental breakfast. Vending machines. Big mistake! The pictures on line look better than in real life.

We were excited to visit this hotel. Rooms over 2 floors. 2nd floor accessible by a spiral staircase or wider staircase at the service end of the boat. Be mindful that it can be hard to cart heavy/wide luggage cases upstairs. Rooms standard hotel size but it can get hot as the floor to ceiling windows let a lot of...

Room is small but clean. One side of the room, overlooking the river, is all glass with a window and french door. The room got uncomfortably hot late evening and made it difficult to sleep. We tried the window and door open - the amount of insects coming in soon put a stop to that. There was a portable air-conditioner...

We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are clean, modern and have a fantastic view. Breakfast is rather limited a meat, cheese spreads, rolls, danish, apples, yogurt. You are a 10 -15 minute walk from the center of Copenhagen or Christian Haven. Staff was helpful. The rooms got warm and with the Riverside door open it can get noisy.

Staying in Christianshavn

Neighbourhood Profile
Just across one of the many bridges from Indre By, you’ll find Christianshavn. An eclectic area with old brick lanes, houses dating back to the 16th century, and canals which are home to many boats and ships, some of which has been turned into restaurants or even serve as fully furnished homes. The best known attraction in Chistianshavn is Christiania, a “free town” of residents who squat on a former military area. However just a stone’s throw away from Christiania, you’ll find some of the most fashionable waterfront apartment buildings in Copenhagen as well as the splendid Royal Opera House.
