Quite old-fashioned but neat place to stay for people who don`t need luxury during their stay in Copenhagen because all the time their spending on the streets. Very close to train station and Tivoli. Really enjoyed buffet for breakfast - nice variety.

In the first 2 days, we stayed in the double bed room, located in the 1st floor. The room was terrible, small, with no safe and fridge, broken TV and old towels. After 2 "unforgettable" nights, we decided to upgrade to the 3rd floor rooms. These rooms are bigger, renewed and more comfortable. The organic breakfast, although expensive, was very... More

Hi, thank you for your review. You might have booked an economy double room and these are smaller than standard rooms. These are also mentioned on our website to be 12 sqm. We do not offer fridge nor safes in the rooms but please send us a link that advertises these services. Yes, our 3rd floor is renovated and we... More

Apart from the great location, there is nothing else good to say. The room wasn't clean and there were stains all over the headboard. Was told on arrival by staff that we would be able to have free breakfast the next morning but when we confirmed with manager he said no and was fairly rude about it. The worst part... More

The Astoria is situated right next to the railway station, and is just a few minutes walk from Tivoli or the main shopping streets of Copenhagen. Clean rooms and little noise for such a central location. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. The hotel, built in the mid-thirties, is rather strange to look at at first, but if you walk... More

Hi, Thank you for such an amazing review about Hotel Astoria. Then you should see the 2 basements we have, that follows the entire lenght of the Hotel from the Central Station to Vesterbrogade. It is quite ingenious and we hope to be able to make the most of this space when we start a renovation in 2017. Maybe I... More

the location of this hotel, outside the railway station and very near to the Tivoli Gardens, is a plus factor. Also good is the breakfast buffet. Reasonable price (for usually expensive Denmark) for very central location. The Copenhagen Central station is just next door. Location is probably the best attraction. Hotel Astoria, although a historic hotel in typical Danish functionalist style, and its good location, is disappointing. It has a good amount of traffic of visitors, but maintenance is left much to be desired. Public spaces, such as the lobby and restaurant where only breakfast is served, could be promising. But one tends to get a shock when entering the rooms.... More

Staying in Inner Vesterbro

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner Vesterbro
This neighbourhood is home to Tivoli Gardens, a world famous amusement park and beautiful garden always worth a visit. Just west of Tivoli, you’ll find Copenhagen Central Station, from where you can reach just about every part of Denmark within 5 or 6 hours, or you can reach Copenhagen Airport in less than 15 minutes. Next to the Central Station, you’re in the middle of “old” Vesterbro, where several cultures and hundreds of languages are spoken in an area not more than one square mile. This neighbourhood is considered one of the most trendy places to live in and to visit in Copenhagen. For a real treat, visit Kødbyen ("meat town"), home to several restaurants, cafés and nightclubs, all within a short walk of each other.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Astoria is located as a large train in extension to Copenhagen's Central Station. It is positioned very central in a living area with a short distance to the metropolitan areas in the Meetpacker Destrict and Copenhagen Center. There are approximately 100 meters to Tivoli and the City Hall Square is right around the corner. The airport is only a 12 minutes ride away. The hotel is a 3-star hotel built in 1934 in the functionalist style typical for the architectural era and is therefore popular among people interested in architecture.
