We stayed here for 5 nights. As advertised, we expected that there will be an AC in our room, but there is none. Not sure if this is standard among all CPH hotels as it is our first time to visit Denmark and I know that certain European cities do not customarily use AC (due to the climate). Thankfully, Copenhagen summer is pleasantly cool at 16-19C at night and we did not encounter a freak hearwave during our visit. We cracked the window open to let some breeze in, and the staff lent us an extra electric fan (we used 2). Rituals toiletries are much appreciated. Breakfast was basic but good enough and reasonably priced. Staff is courteous. Housekeeping missed to clean our room 1 time, but the receptionist made up for it with some fresh towels, toiletries, and complimentary premium water.

Hotel location is a good 5 to 10 minute walk from the Kongens Nytorv Metro Station which is tolerable except when it is pouring outdoors. The cobblestone pathways are a bit of a challenge when dragging huge luggage.

All in all, we experienced a good Danish welcome and hospitality at this hotel.

Dear JusticeofthePeace, Thank you from the heart for choosing to share your experience at The Huxley. We're genuinely grateful for your detailed feedback after your 5-night stay. Your understanding about the absence of AC and your positive outlook on the Copenhagen summer temperatures warms our hearts. We're glad our team could provide you with extra fans to ensure your comfort. Apologies for the hiccup with housekeeping, but it's heartening to hear our receptionist could promptly make amends with fresh towels, toiletries, and complimentary water. I hope this didn't affect your experience too negatively. Your insights into the location, toiletries, breakfast, and our staff's courtesy are truly appreciated. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to The Huxley, providing you with an even more sincere and delightful Danish experience in the future. Warm regards, Marius Team Huxley

A great hotel with a fantastic service in the central of Copenhagen. Since it is located in the central they do not have any parking places which is one of the downsides, but if you are prepared to walk 500m it is no problem finding a parking place.

The breakfast was great and with a great service there as well you really felt welcome. If the rooms would have had AC it would be 5 stars, but since we visited it in the summer the room was very hot and you had to sleep with the window open which has a lot of noise. (it is not noisy at all with a closed window)

Dear Peter, Thank you for taking the time to write your review, we appreciate your feedback and your time. I'm very happy to see you enjoyed our hotel and our fantastic service. Especially our service is something we take great pride in, so it's great to see that this is also noticed by our guests. You're right, we don't have any parking spaces directly at the hotel, but we do have arrangements with Jeudan Parkering at Sankt Annæ Plads 32, where you can get a discounted rate if you register at the hotel. It's great to see you enjoyed the breakfast, and I'm sorry you were disappointed that we don't have air conditioning in every room. It's great to see that you found af solution - either with table fans or open windows - but I'm still sorry we disappointed. As you might know, being a swede yourself, it's not really customary to have air conditioning in Northern Europe, since we rarely need it, but since summers are getting hotter and hotter, I see that it might've been an issue. I'm sorry we disappointed you in that regard. Once again, thank you for your kind words about our hotel, and thank you also for your feedback! We have definitely taken it into consideration. We hope to see you back! All the best, Marius Team Huxley

This remodeled hotel provided us an upscale danish experience in the heart of Copenhagen. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a wide range of hot and cold foods and was a great start to the day. Because of the central location, we could walk to most of the major sites. The hotel is on a quiet street, near one of the larger canals. There were restaurants nearby as well as great places to walk. The rooms are quite small, but our executive room on the top floor had a reasonable amount of space.

This hotel goes by two names; The Huxley Copenhagen but its also known as the Best Western City Hotel.
The hotel was recently renovated so everything has a new shinny modern look. That goes also for the rooms. The hotel is located near city center and in walking distance, 10 minutes),of metrostation with direct service to the airport. There was good wifi, in-room coffee facilities and a big tv with channels in several languages.
The bed was also decent sized and very comfortable; I slept very well on them. Staff was friendly and fast with check-in and out. The hotel serves breakfast for a additional 150kr. Used the buffet once but I thought it wasn't worth the money; choices of bread/pastries are limited and other items could also be a bit more expanded and variable.
The attention point in my opinion were; there is no airco in the room, just a tabletop fan, and there was also no fridge. I missed a hotel/room information folder with the regular hotel and surroundings info. For a hotel of this "grandeur" I think those items are unmissable. What also bothered me was that several nights there were some noisy customers at the pub on the corner of the street and that the garbage was early, and loudly, collected.

But all in all I had a great time in the hotel and the city and when you look for a Best Western hotel; it is a good choice.

Hi Richard! Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback. We no longer go by two names; only the first one, The Huxley Copenhagen. We're happy to see you enjoyed being so close to the city centre as well as our wifi, coffee facilities, tv and bed. You are right; they are very comfortable;-) I'm sorry to see you didn't find the breakfast worthwile; this is seldom the case for our guests due to our broad selection of both pastries, fresh bread from Meyer's, fish, cheese, egg bar, fresh coffee and juice, yoghurt bar, etc.; it's a shame to hear that the quality didn't live up to your expectations, and I hope that the other aspects of your stay made up for this instead. Additionally, you're completely right about the airconditioning situation:-) We don't have air conditioning in the rooms, mostly due to two things: 1) It's just not part of the culture in Northern Europe, especially not in Scandinavia, since the summers usually don't get so hot that the problem can't be solved using a table fan or opening a window. 2) We took an environmentally conscious choice to not have these in all rooms but our Executive rooms and suite as they are (as aforementioned) more of a luxury than a staple. Lastly, I'm sorry that you felt that the customers at the pub across from the street were noisy. Of course, this is not at all in our control, and has nothing to do with us, and furthermore might be expected when you're staying in the centre of the capital. I'm sorry this surprised you and ruined your sleep, regardless; if you ever find yourself back, we'll be sure to do our best to get you a room facing inwards instead of outwards! Lastly, it's fantastic to see you had a great time in the hotel and the city apart from that. Once again, thank you for your kind words and attentive feedback. Best regards, Marius Team Huxley

We really enjoyed our stay at the Huxley Hotel which is in Nyhavn, the canal district. There are many nearby restaurants within walking disrance. Our room was comfortable, albeit small, and a card key is used, the Wifi is free and toiletires are provided. They have general use computers and the NY Times International Edition is available in the lobby, which is a great sitting area. We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast which had eggs, breakfast meats, smoked fish, yogurt, pancakes, and home-made jams.

Dear Howards50, Thank you so much for your splendid review! We're so happy to see you enjoyed your stay here in Copenhagen, and it's great that you loved being so close to the main sights of the city and the bustling cultural area of Nyhavn. It's also fantastic to see that you enjoyed being close to mostly everything that you might need in the city as well as the fact that you liked the room, although you found it af bit small; that is often the case when searching for hotel rooms in Copenhagen:-) I'm happy to see that you also noticed both our fast wifi, Rituals toiletries, general computers, daily New York Times, and our fantastic breakfast, which I'm so glad to see that you enjoyed! We do our best to have af very fresh and tasty selection of breakfast option so there's something to every taste - everything form our homemade jams, fresh fish, buns from Meyer's, our egg bar, or something entirely different from the buffet. If you ever make it back from New York to Copenhagen again, we hope we get the chance to be your host another time! Once again, thank you for your review, it's greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Marius Team Huxley

As others have written, staff was good, room was very small, but totally satisfactory for our needs, and the location is excellent. We love to walk when we travel so the Huxley's location was perfect. In the city center, we could walk to many of the areas/attractions we were interested in seeing. Hotel is near TONS of restaurants/bars, though I'm pretty sure one might need to go a little farther into the city to get less "touristy" food. Hotel breakfast is outstanding and the bar is small and friendly. Huxley is near 3 Metro stations, 2 of which are about 5 minute walks. Proximity to Metro also makes Huxley a good choice for using the Metro to get to/from the airport, especially if you're traveling light. My wife and I have "backpack-style" luggage and our friends have wheeled suitcases. Though the cobblestone streets made the wheeled luggage a little more challenging, the distance was short enough that our friends were ok with the walk. Finally, though the room as very small, the bed was comfy and the shower was great. As a basecamp for seeing Copenhagen, The Huxley is ideal for people looking for a clean, affordable hotel.

I had a very pleasant stay at The Huxley on my recent trip to Copenhagen.

I had four nights staying in one of their Economy Rooms. This was very small but I was aware of this from their website. Despite the size it had everything I needed and it was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was very good and the free wi-fi worked fine. My room 401 was at the back of the hotel so whilst there was no view it was very quiet aside from some birdsong early in the morning but that wasn't really a problem.

The breakfast served from 7am was very good with plenty of choice including bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, beans plus fruit, cereals, cooked meats, cheese etc.

All the staff I encountered were very friendly. The location is great being a short walk from Nyhavn and also just a five minutes stroll from Kongens Nytorv metro station which is about fifteen minutes away from the airport.

I would defintely stay here again should I return to Copenhagen!

You couldn’t fault the location - close to the metro which connects to the airport and within easy walking distance of all the main attractions (and I’m not in my prime, but found the distances comfortable enough). It’s a quiet hotel in a quiet city street. We had the economy room, which wasn’t huge, but it was clean, well decorated and perfectly functional - no complaints at all. The breakfast looked good value if you’re not vegan like we are - perhaps they should offer vegans a reduced price. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable, bed linens good quality and towels soft and full. We both slept very well.

Dear Nick, Thank you so much for your positive review of our hotel! We greatly appreciate that you took the time to write the nice words. I'm happy to see you loved the location - it is indeed very convenient being in the middle of everything:-) Our Economy room is definitely to the smaller side and snug if you also have a lot of luggage, but I'm happy to see that this was no issue to you and it joys me to hear that you also liked the decorations:-) We take pride in both our breakfast and our staff, and we also offer vegan options upon request, however we try to avoid as much food waste as possible:-) Thank you for your kind words about our staff - I'm happy to see you felt helped and attended to. We strive to give all of our guests a pleasant and personal experience. Once again, thank you for your kind words - I hope we get the chance to be your host if you ever find yourself in Copenhagen again. All the best, Marius Team Huxley

The staff are all wonderful at this boutique hotel and very responsive to email questions; they are terrific. It is a half-hour walk from the train station but the bus at the corner is very convenient for getting to the station and that part of Copenhagen. We walked nearly everywhere for our tourist attractions so the location is very good. It is on a quiet street near the Nyhavn waterfront but rooms on the street would hear bar music and people noise. Our room faced the courtyard and with windows open you can hear people's conversations until midnight or so, but is nice and quiet thereafter. The 2nd floor hallway flooring was so squeaky that we thought people were in our room when they walked by, which was startling when some loud guests walked by at 2:30 am.

They have an awesome breakfast that is an extra charge that can be added to the room quote. You check in on arrival so they mark off your room number. The bed was very hard and it took until the second night to get our bodies to settle in comfortably. It is very easy to bang your knees on the metal bed frame and we wrapped the corners with pieces of clothing to protect us enroute to the bathroom or the desk area. There is adequate storage for a multi-night stay, but we did pay more to get more space for a 5-night stay, since the regular rooms would have been claustrophobic for two of us. They did provide small bottles of free water each day, a nice touch. It turned out to be the most costly of our 6 hotels on our Nordic tour, but Copenhagen is not a cheap city.

My boyfriend and I had booked one night at the Huxley for our small trip to Copenhagen. Coming to the hotel a bit early, they made it easy for us to check in nevertheless. Rooms were newly renovated and very clean, and staff were very helpful when we extended our stay for another night.
The breakfast was over our expectations, as the kitchen was even taking orders for if you wanted fried eggs and such but also serving some nice bread, juices and coffee.
Meeting Huxley the dog was a real treat! 🐶
Would definitely stay another time when going to Copenhagen again!

We hope you and your boyfriend had a great time in Copenhagen, and we hope you felt at ease the whole time! It's great to see that you enjoyed our breakfast, something we really do take pride in, trying to have lots of different options for every taste, both hot and cold. It's also so great to hear that you decided to prolong your stay! Of course, we want to be of as much help as possible if you like us so much you want to stay for another night.
