The Scandic Copenhagen hotel's service garners appreciation for its friendliness and helpfulness, although some guests have experienced delays. Although the atmosphere is often described as lacking warmth, the hotel's central location is a highlight for many guests, offering easy access to city attractions. Rooms receive mixed reviews, with some finding them to be cramped, while others enjoy the spaciousness and views. The cleanliness and in-room amenities like kettles are generally praised, but some inconsistencies have been noted. Guests are divided on value, with some questioning the quality offered for the price.

We arrived on Sunday the 29th of december to spend 5 days and 4 nigths in Copenhagen. We arrived at 3 pm and got immedatly offered a better room with a better view, We decided to upgrade for 200 sek extra per nigth, The room was big and nice. They told us that cleaning of the room only was if we told the reception before 11 Am the day before.
They also said that they will check for some ligth cleaning. On the third day we told the reception that we needed cleaning ”tomorrow”. Next day we visited the city, we came home by 3 am, the room was still not made we had to call two times for cleaning, not good.
Maby its good for the envirement, but not for paying customers.
The hotel is close to the railwaystation, aprox. 10 min walk, very good. The hotel i very near to the shopping distrikt, very good.
We liked the hotel, but the cleaning policy; don’t forget to call reception!

SCANDIC COPENHAGEN

ROOM 1125 (upgrade)

A nice sized room with a king sized bed which was extremely comfortable. Two side tables with lights above beside the bed. Flat screen TV. Desk, chair, plug sockets and telephone on the wall. Chaise longue bed suitable for a child. Wall unit housing the safe, hairdryer and iron. A clothes rail with an open cupboard above. Long mirror. Ironing board.

Bathroom has a walk in shower, soap, shampoo and conditioner pumps with the shower and a nice sized sink with soap and body lotion pumps. White towelling, nice mirror over sink.

The breakfast caters for all and is very good.

There is a conference room. The reception area is very nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful. A pleasant bar area and restaurant.

The hotel is central and is within easy reach of bars and restaurants and public transport.

The room is very nice but only caters for a few days stay as the hanging space and cupboard space is very limited. However a very nice hotel and we would return.

This is a basic hotel for 4 star pricing. Most of the guest seem to be in transit to or from a cruise ship. The hotel has an excellent buffet breakfast but the on-site restaurant for other meals is severely lacking on menu options. The other closest restaurants are a 5-7 minutes walk towards Kobenhaven Station.

The hotel does not have any other amenities such as a pool, spa or children's play area. The wi-fi is pretty decent!

My family and I spent a birthday celebration weekend in Copenhagen and stayed at Scandic Copenhagen. I'm Danish and currently live in Switzerland but my family all live in Jutland (the part from Denmark that sticks up from Germany) so staying at a hotel in our own country was quite interesting. We're glad we chose this particular one: It was near everything we needed and wanted to do. The personnel were extremely friendly and accommodating; the breakfast great (there were two children of 9 years old in our party who loved the waffle makers) and plenty; the food in the restaurant also great; the rooms great as well. In the evenings we enjoyed playing cards and chatting in the common area by the reception and looking at the other guests from near and far. I can highly recommend this hotel.
I've 'only' given the rooms 4 circles, as I could have done with more shelves and the wi-fi was rather unstable as well.

We stayed at this hotel as a family of 4 (children aged 3 and 9) in a junior suite in August (I have a Danish passport so able to stay for shorter than 6 nights).
We loved the location and the helpful staff. Breakfast was great with lots of choice and fresh and delicious. We were also able to buy tickets at reception for Tivoli and the Zoo at a discount - great to be able to skip the queues!
We had a room on the 9th floor with a fantastic view of the city - we could even see the rides in Tivoli. My mum joined us from Jutland for 2 nights and the reception staff put her in the room next to ours which was great. We would definitely stay here again

Location is perfect, only walking distance from Central st, bus stop and other attractions. Quiet room with view over the Planetarium and the lake. Comfortable bed. With Covid situation, hotel takes make pre-caution measures like disinfect hotel pens at reception, gloves in bfast area, single served meal. Personnel and notice to remind you of social distancing.

This hotel is way below the standard for Scandic with poor service and rooms that do not have the basic facilities you would get even at way cheaper hotels: no tea maker, no cups/glasses, no hairdryer, a TV where it is not possible to cast from you phone. A secret ice machine on the 16th floor that we only found by chance, even after inquiring about it at reception ... and the list goes on. They have a good location and a view over the lakes (for some rooms) but other than that I can not recommend this hotel at all.

Amazing views in this hotel, we were lucky to be on the 15th floor facing the city and the viewing were stunning!

This is a great hotel, well located just a few minutes walk from the train station. The staff were always friendly and helpful, the breakfast was also great. There was a very good gluten free section in a designated space with gf porridge, corn flakes and bread (2 different types). There were also scrambled eggs, omelettes and beans in a buffet section all marked gluten free, each with their own spoons and there was no cross contamination. There was a large selection of fruit also.

Great hotel, would absolutely stay here again!!

Good service at the front desk. They let you borrow converter, which is super helpful for international travelers.

Simple room settings. They managed to put 4 twin beds in the room for a family, which means the room is a descent size. Expect very simple bathroom amenities. They offer towels, heated towel rack, shampoo, shower gel, soap, and toilet paper only. No lotion or tissues or any other vanities. Also no hot water kettle or coffee/tea station.

Breakfast is 7-9:30 on weekdays and 7:30-10 on weekends. It's the same menu everyday but lots of options. Try to be there early by 8, as the hotel is family friendly, after 8 it's a zoo with lots of young kids. The seating area expands to the other side of the restaurant, so it's not a big problem to find seats though. Love crepe with chocolate, ginger shots, poppy seeds pastry, pate with mushroom and orange yolk soft boiled eggs.

Our room's view is facing the lake, which is nice. We also have a lot of hangers in the room, perfect when we need to quickly rinse some clothing. They do have laundry service, which is same day return at 5pm.

They have Sauna rooms for men and women separately but no pool. The Sauna is open 24/7, which is nice. They have shower and towels inside the sauna rooms. The gym is small.

Location is convenient but expect 10 mins walk to get to Stroget area.

I have been to worse hotels, though not many. What distinguishes the Scandic Copenhagen is that the initial appearance of the reception area is very upmarket which misleads you to believing it’s a great place to stay.

It is only when you start unpacking that things begin to unravel. Currently (late October) what ever setting you put the air conditioning on it blows air at c 19 degrees centigrade: there is no heating. As it’s also noisy it didn’t take long for me to give up on it. There was general dissatisfaction with this among others staying at the hotel too.

The floors are wooden parquet and the sound proofing is lousy so typically you can hear every step of the occupants in the room above you.

Some of the light switches in my room didn’t seem to have any function; conversely to get the desk light to work, you had to press, hard, a rocker switch that was already closed.

The drain from my bathroom was clearly partially blocked as using the shower displaced foul air that promptly came back round the U-bend to generate a drain smell more redolent of warmer, third world, countries. Some people staying at the hotel also commented that where showers were into baths, the wastewater did not drain away for a long time.

Towels lack fluffiness and there are no toiletries, save shower gel/shampoo dispensers screwed to the wall. There is however a loo brush, and the bathroom floor is heated which is nice.

WiFi is open and undergoes periods where it selectively refuses to recognise certain protocols so you get tons of error message and it’s very slow when working. Better to have a mobile data contract and use that.

The television service has relatively few channels and only covers Scandinavian languages, plus German – there is not a single English language channel, which is a first for me.

The lifts comprise two pairs, from different eras, that are not coordinated. The end result is that if there is a delay people tend to press both lift buttons so lift progress is slowed considerably by unnecessary stops when no one gets in. One pair of lifts requires you to tap your room key before it will take you up to your floor – admirable security, save that the other pair doesn’t, so there is no deterrence to burglars at all. People staying in the upper floors reported that the floor indicators would show the lifts rising close to their floor, then inexplicably go back down which perhaps explains why beside the lifts, there is a notice saying that if it takes too long for the lift to come, intending users should call a management number whereupon they would make the necessary arrangements for residents to use the goods lift!

Breakfast was particularly disappointing because, unlike any Scandinavian hotel I have ever stayed at before, they do not serve pickled herrings (and seem to be happy with that too).

The only thing that prevented me from entitling this review “A Scandinavian Faulty Towers” is that most of the staff are really, really nice, friendly and helpful which is particularly impressive given the condition of the hotel.

Overall a place to avoid.

I don't know the answer. Instead, from the airport to the hotel you should take bus 5C or 35. A faster way would be subway line 2.
