Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty.

We have just returned home after 4 nights at the Admiral. Beautifully restored warehouse/granary that gives a real sense of the history of the place. Superb location! Lovely breakfasts and the rooms the are very clean and fresh. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A special shout out for Gurkan who went above and beyond in giving us lots of helpful information about where to go and how to get there. Also told us where to go to get free Covid tests!

Excellent stay in this very beautiful hotel with a great view overlooking the sea. The employees were very attentive to every request we had and service with a smile. The breakfast buffet is plenty, homemade and nothing is missing. We didn’t have dinner in the restaurant Salt.

+1
The Copenhagen Admiral Hotel is in a lovely location, within walking distance to the Royal palace and shopping districts. The restaurant Salt is an excellent restaurant with creative dishes with a bend toward a slightly French influenced cuisine. We had a two level family room for four persons (2 adults and 2 children) where the queen bed is located in the upstairs loft. The stairs are somewhat narrow and steep - I do not recommend trying to negotiate those steps in the dark. Our room faced the city and contained one small window albeit with a view of the palace. While I didn’t have a bad experience at the hotel, I have some reservations about recommending it wholeheartedly. The service- while friendly- is a little too casual for a high level hotel. Our first room upon entering had not had housekeeping service, so we had to wait a few minutes for a desk staff member to show up and take us to another room (without luggage service). The front desk is youth oriented, which isn’t bad but I found their concierge experience limited. When we asked for a recommendation for pizza, the young lady concierge gave us directions to a hole in the wall place with no tables and only counter service. This is where you send your guests? When the hotel got busy, the staff was completely overwhelmed and did not have enough personnel to handle it. One evening the bar was totally jammed with guests. It took 20 minutes before we even received a hello. Some guests took it upon themselves to bus their own tables! I wouldn’t mind giving the hotel another chance, as Copenhagen is a lovely city to visit. Hopefully they will work through these issues soon.

Dear Krazban We appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback. It gives us the opportunity to improve our service and facilities where it's needed. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed our restaurant SALT, we are trying hard to make it a memorable experience. I am very sorry to hear that the experience regarding our service, did not life up to your expectations. I will of course talk to our front office department regarding this as this I not our normally standard. Despite the circumstances you have encountered along your stay, we do hope that you had a great visit to Copenhagen. Best regards Frederik H Assistant Hotel Manager

My partner and I spent 3 nights at the Admiral right around Christmas. The room had an amazing view of the harbor and it was a 5 - 20 minute walk to lots of delicious restaurants and attractions. We spent a lovely evening at the bar and had a delicious dinner at Salt restaurant. Overall an exceptional trip and we will definitely be back on our next trip to Copenhagen!
