This was our second New Years Eve spent at the Admiral, and if anything it was even better than the previous year. The evening begins at 6.30 with a welcome cocktail and proceeds via a 5 course dinner of accomplished finesse, accompanied by wines selected for each course (glasses re-filled as often as you like, so pace yourself - its...

We are a family of 4 (children aged 7 and 10) and we recently stayed in a junior suite at this hotel. The positives - good restaurant, location and nice looking building. The negatives: - Unclean (particularly noted when we had to fix the slats in a bed which fell apart on night 1) - Unprofessional service (fold out bed...

We had the pleasure of our first trip to wonderful Copenhagen for Christmas this year and we were just blown away by this hotel and it's excellent staff. The hotel is so easy to get to from the airport and its about a 10 minute walk from the nearest metro station, single ticket to the airport costs under 4 euros....

From the moment to see the hotel you know you have made the right decision. It is wonderful inside and out. The location is brilliant, just a stones throw from the Nyhavn and taxis and the tourist bus stop right outside. The room we had was small but had all the facilities we needed with plenty of tea and coffee...

Very pleased with this hotel - great location only 8-10mins walk from the Metro. We were very lucky to have a room overlooking the harbour, and on New Year's Eve were treated to a beautiful fireworks display right outside our hotel room. Service was quick and efficient, and the room was a good size.

Having visited Copenhagen many times I still come back to the Admiral weather for business or leisure.I always look forward to staying at the admiral nearly as much as I do returning home to my own bed.It epitomises the Danish expression for cosy. It is a great location with easy access to great restaurants, sites and shopping when visiting Copenhagen.

Set in a building dating from the 18th century, the hotel has tons of personality. We're far from a boutique hotel but this is infinitely better than a Radisson or a Hilton... The staff was attentive though they made our room every morning around 10 which wasn't the most convenient. Our only real qualm is that the breakfast room is...

The room was spacious by Copenhagen standards, but I did not expect such paper-thin walls in an old building. We could hear every word spoken in adjacent rooms, and also in the hall. (A second door could be installed to create an entryway and to reduce some of the noise from the hall.) The room had two spacious closets and...

Nice hotel located in a fine old building that used to be a granary. History is still present in the cosy rooms as the old dark wooden beams are visible. I really liked the lobby bar. Located near by the Royal Palace and Nyhavn.

Perfectly located by the Nyhavn and directly across the harbour from the Opera House. Many of the main attractions of Copenhagen are within walking distance. The hotel,is a converted warehouse and retains many of the original features including lots of substantial and impressive timberwork. The room was very comfortable and a good size with a chair and sofa as well...

Neighbourhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
