Copenhagen Admiral Hotel is in a former harbor warehouse - which has been converted to a top hotel. Super location - you may walk "everywhere" in Copenhagen center. Top service and good food we shall definitely be back. Situated across the water to the Opera house they offer a dinner in the restaurant with return boat transport to the opera.

No airconditioning so rooms can become warm and stuffy. Hotel is clearly becoming old and outdated. We booked the junior suite, rooms were alright, not particularly special. Breakfast is a horror story for anyone enjoying a quiet coffee and read a newspaper. There are so many people having breakfast at the same time. Expect a very loud breakfast. I really...

HOTEL REVIEW (Keep reading for Wedding Reception & Planning review of Copenhagen Admiral) My husband and I booked the Copenhagen Admiral because we were looking for an upscale hotel that blended Old World Scandinavia, a sense of deep history and richness of culture, modernity & class, and finally, simplicity. The Copenhagen Admiral delivered, and more. LOCATION & HISTORY: The Admiral...

I spent almost 2 weeks in the Admiral Hotel and I didn`t like at all. The big problem is the bathrooms, smelling horrible and is not the problem of one room is the entire hotel...all bathrooms smell bad. The rooms are old but comfortable. The positive thing was the breakfast, very good. I won`t return NEVER!!

Warning: my review is a warning for those who would like to book a comfortable hotel 4 stars in Copenhagen and expects the same service as 4 from 4 stars hotel in US or Canada. The good: The hotel is centrally located in Copenhagen, it takes 20 minutes and 260 crowns to get there by taxi from airport. You can...

Great experience even though a long plane trip and delayed check in pushed the limits. Room facing the waterfront building going on opposite. Level 4 room adequate however no airconditioner which I thought may be a problem but it wasn't . Easy to hire bikes but have to hire them for 24 hrs rates reasonable. Breakfast menu was great prompt...

Recommended to me by Danish friends, my husband and I were awed at the very historical and comfortable rooms! The service was excellent ! The location is excellent as we toured by foot many historical sights and enjoyed the creative museums! We also enjoyed the canal location! The breakfast buffet has many choices! We enjoyed sipping a drink harbor side,...

We had a very nice and relaxing stay at the Admiral Hotel which I knew since twenty years. It was always a good hotel, but it got even better during the last years. The rooms are good, breakfast is overwhelming and the Salt Restaurant is excellent. I appreciate very much he exquisit position near Nyhavn and opposite to the new...

We booked a room months in advance because we had a family reunion in Copenhagen. Hotels in that part of the world are expensive, we get it:) But we read the reviews online and were reassured about our choice. I had 2 unpleasant experiences with the hotel staff. Upon check out it was so busy and I felt still humiliated...

This hotel has for me a very good location. The center of the city and Nyhavn are within a walking distance, and to the Square where you will find the Royal houses its also not far ( just 5 minutes walking ) and the hotel is also close to a Canal where you can find many restaurants have have a...

Neighbourhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
