The Wi-Fi was terrible and we had problems in all 5 days we stayed. We couldn’t work from our room. I complained many times in the reception and the same answer was given “the technicians are working on it” We asked an alternative password for a meeting room and no one knew the password. Our room was smelling bad (I guess from the water pipes in the bathroom). Beautiful hotel and its structure. The staff are gentle. It’s a pity they have these problems nowadays. We also like the eco policy from the hotel

Dear Hebert Thank you for your feedback as we are very sad to learn that your stay was not as good as we would have liked to offer. Unfortunately, after checking all internal routers, we found out the problem was external and the internet providerYousee was not able to solve the problem with the cable untill monday. We are truly sorry that this flawed your stay. We were also extremely frustrated. Providing internet is like providing water. It's an essential part of the hotel. Again we offer our deepest apologies for this very serious issue With kind regards Mette from Axel Guldsmeden

This hotel is like a warm hug from a good friend. It's cozy, relaxed and feels familiar. The location is nearnto Central Station, and not far from the meat-packing district. My room was cosy, but had everything I needed including a balcony. There is a conscious effort to reduce waste and use sustainable products. The bathroom makes the most of a small space, and a little more room in the shower would have been nice, but it works. Breakfast is fabulous, including the best Bircher muesli, as well as bread, pastries, eggs, cheese and fruit. But good to know if you're heading out early to a conference, breakfast on the weekend starts at 8am. I was disappointed to miss out on Saturday. But one of the staff made me a coffee, which was really appreciated. The staff are friendly and cheerful and it's a lovely place to stay.

Why did I choose this hotel? Thought it was a 4 stars, seemed to have priced correctly. No Axel Guldesmen other than the good location, gives little to its guests: - Small rooms --> barely the space for just the bed - Difficult to sleep later than 7 a.m. due to the very short curtains that do not fully cover the windows. - Very very basic service. Just a couple of tea bags and an empty (yes empty) water bottle (yes, an already used water bottle, not a canteen) - Unmade beds. If you re a couple will sleep under to different blankets despite on the same bed. - Personnel not particularly smiley - Quality of interiors is that of an average 3 stars hotel. Last, to give an elegant touch, a few ladies awaiting for "generous friend" just next to the door, every night. Easy to find something just cheaper for the same quality or better for the same. Not coming back.

Dear Vittorio We are sad to hear that you were not happy with your stay. I am also sorry that you did not come to us in reception during your stay as we could have clarified or helped you with your concerns. We love happy guests and usually we find a way to resolve things. As I can see you booked a normal double standard room at quite a low rate. Your room is by no means small compared to a normal Copenhagen double room, but of course had you booked a double superiour there would have been more space. We have both coffee and tea inside the room. The organic coffee bags just look a little different than normal, so it sounds like you overlooked it. As for the water bottles they are of course new - but on purpose we do not have bottled water. Instead we put an empty bottle for guests to fill up. The tap water is excellent here in Denmark and we encourage our guests to buy less plastic bottles and fill and bring our empty ones with them around town. Sustainibility is very important to us and our guests usually really appreciate this. As for the duvets this is standard in Scandinavia that theres 2 and not not 1. We have 1 per person but they are not blankets, but real big and fluffy, so most guests love them. Sorry that this was not to your taste. As for the decor we are sorry to hear that our decorations do not fit your taste. we usually have comments that our guests love the interiour but of course take note of your view on this. We wish you happy travels in the future. All the best Mette from Axel

Me and my partner were due to stay in the hotel on 13th February for 2 nights. Unfortunately on the Friday prior I had a medical issue that prevented me from flying under doctors advice as I required hospital appointments on the 13th and 15th February. We emailed the hotel the same afternoon on the 10th regarding a possible cancellation and we received an email back advising that it wasn’t possible and they looked forward to seeing us. On responding to their insensitive email, they then invoiced us, charged the hotel to our account and sent us an email thanking us for our stay on Friday 10th (3 days before our stay was due) We appreciated that a cancellation may not have been possible but at no point was we offered an alternative date so the money we paid was lost. The Customer service was shocking, they showed no empathy and their emails/ invoices were very unwelcome at an extremely traumatic time. Wouldn’t book to stay at their hotel again.

Dear Aimee We are very sorry that we assist you in cancelling your stay, but according to your terms and conditions you booked a fully non-refundable reservation. This is at a lower rate and cannot be altered - just as it is with plane tickets booked at non-refundable rates. You booked on an online travel site, but had you booked directly on our own website guldsmedenhotels, which is in every which way a better deal, cancellation would not have been a problem. We highly recommend booking directly with the hotel and not on other travel sites if you do not carry travel insurance. We are sympathetic to any guests urgent medical issues, but these s as a rule are to be covered by the guest/ your travel insurance. With kind regards Mette

Really really nice hotel with nice service! The beds where comfortable, clean room, luxurios bathing articles, delicious breakfast! The spa was really nice but felt a bit small when it got to crowded - a tip would be to have a maximum of people during different time periods maybe?

The hotel is in a great location, a few minutes walk from the Central station and Tivoli Gardens. The lobby and bar areas were really nicely decorated and welcoming, and the bed was very comfortable and i did sleep well. However the room needed some focus on cleanliness in some areas - particularly things like the bath extractor fan, which was covered in black dust, and some care and attention is needed to some of the amenities and decoration - the curtains in my room for instance were hanging off the rails and didnt meet so the lights from the courtyard were shining through all night. The hotel also advertises that it has eco branded toiletries in the bathrooms - which indeed it did, but unfortunately in my room on arrival they did not appear to have been refilled (they were partially refilled on subsequent nights). The breakfast was reasonable, and the pastries and bread were good, but the hot food was luke warm at best, and on one day positively cold. For a 4 star hotel, I would have expected better standards at relatively basic things. I had paid for access to the spa throughout my stay- unfortunately however the jacuzzi wasn't working throughout, which was a shame. The spa itself is quite small, but is beautifully decorated (it does get very busy on Saturday evenings though!). Overall it was a comfortable enough stay, and the location was great, however if I was to return to Copenhagen I probably would not stay here again.

Very convenient location, good vibe, beautiful interior and healthy breakfast. We had an overall great time there. I especially liked the bed design and the mattress and in the double superior the bathroom with the tub was really nice as well.
