Skt Petri hotel garners high marks for its attentive service and prime location, nestled conveniently in the city's heart, making exploration a breeze for visitors. While its stylish atmosphere and extensive amenities such as a fitness center and sauna are widely celebrated, some guests have called out the noise from ongoing construction as a nuisance. The rooms are praised for being spacious and offering beautiful views, though a few travelers have noted they could benefit from updates. Opinions are divided on value; the buffet is reasonable, but extra services may tally up.

My husband and I are well--a bit fussy when it comes to hotels. Our friends call my husband "five star". We labored over where to stay in Copenhagen. Upon the recommendation of a friend we booked the SKT Petri. And we are so happy we stayed at this hotel!

SKT Petri is truly fantastic. We loved everything about it. The location is wonderful, with great restaurants, coffee shops and lots of nice stores nearby. We walked to everything on our Copenhagen "list"-- never needed a taxi.

The hotel is very, very pretty. The lobby with soaring ceilings was beautiful, as was the restaurant area. The staff was warm and welcoming at the front desk, bell desk and in the restaurant.

We had breakfast at the hotel daily--and it was one of the best breakfasts ever. My husband and I found everything we needed--he likes his bacon and I like a vegan breakfast and we were both super happy. We ate dinner there one night as well and it was delicious.

Our room was great! It wasn't huge but it was nicely laid out--we had plenty of room to move around and there was ample room for the luggage. We were upgraded to a room with a patio which had a lovely view of the surrounding streets. The bed was really comfortable and had my favorite, the split duvet where each person gets their own blanket. Love that! The bathroom was clean and functional, and the shower was nice also--good water pressure and I didn't need a PHD to turn it on.

We went on to Amsterdam after Copenhagen, stayed in a five star luxury hotel (for a whole lot more money) and we longed for the SKT Petri. It was so much nicer than the luxury place.

Highly recommended!!

Really enjoyed staying in this hotel. Beds were very comfortable, nice modern bathroom with a bath tub, good service - everyone was friendly, helpful and efficient. I appreciated that the windows open, hotel rooms often get stuffy and there was no AC in the room that I could find so it was nice to be able to open the windows. Small refrigerator that was nice for waters, fruit etc. Only negatives really, the breakfast was over the top expensive - $36.00 per person - I travel a lot and that may be the most expensive i have seen anywhere. Fortunately a nice grocery stores right down stairs and also room service was very reasonable by comparison so you could actually order room service and their choices and quality/speed of service was great. Location was very central to everything you will want to see in Copenhagen

We stayed for three nights on a half board basis. On arrival our room was not ready but our luggage was stowed and we were given excellent information from the concierge about getting around to the different tourist attractions. The room was clean as was the linen. The breakfast buffet was fresh and there was a range of choices. We were on a set menu for dinner and this was cooked fresh each evening for us. I have to follow a strict gluten and dairy free diet and again the staff were exemplary and nothing was too much trouble. We had a couple of issues with the room temperature and the safety deposit box but the staff were prompt to deal with and resolve both issues. Compared to the UK wine and spirits are priced with a business expense account in mind rather than the tourist which was disappointing. That said, I would recommend this hotel for a short city break.

Let me first say that we know the trouble the service industry is going through right now. A lot of people have left and it’s hard to find new staff, we understand that but some simple things during our stay was not standard for a 4 star hotel.
At check in our room was not ready, it was past check in time but instead of saying, have a drink on us at the bar the answer was just, come back in 30-40 minutes. We sat down literally 10 feet from the reception and waited. If you want a drink before 6 pm you must order it from the receptionist, we ordered a couple of Carlsberg, but to our suprise they were non alcoholic.
Our room was nice and clean, although a bit oddly laid out with a lot of light switches and hard to understand how to control them. The toilet didn’t flush properly, you had to flush 5 or 6 times after you used it.
At 6 pm we meet our friends at the bar, the same place that serves breakfast. It was already prepared for the next day with utensils etc, very strange in these pandemic times. We wanted to have a look at the bar menu but the bartender claimed he was the menu. When we ordered our drinks we wanted some snacks but now it gets interesting. His answer was that we could go to our room to get the potato chips from the minibar or we could go to to the local supermarket Netto around the corner and buy something. What? We thought he was joking but no, he wasn’t. I’ve never heard anything like that on any of our trips around the world. Another thing, after a couple of minutes the bartender sat down a couple of tables away, having his break, eating his dinner. Very strange indeed, never experienced that before.
The next morning during breakfast they were vacuuming the businesscenter on the second floor, but instead of closing the door during the vacuuming, all of us having breakfast could enjoy the sound of the machine.
Clearing tables during breakfast was not very good, we sat with a lot of empty plates during breakfast.
Again, we understand the problems but you can’t charge people the same price, offering half the service.

I stayed in Skt Petri during the NYE time - the hotel was beautifully decorated and with a very nice festive touch switching from Christmas to the New Year's period in style.
The design is cosy and recalls the post-industrial style of the late 60s, very in line with the past history of the building and giving a gentle reminiscence of it.

I required a high floor room and I was nicely located in the corner side looking at Skt Petri's church: it didn't take a lot to make me feel lucky, as I noticed that due to a structural layout of the building some rooms look at "public" stairs, which means that some people can look into other people's room while using the stairs to get down to the lobby.

Food wise, breakfast deserves a special mention, with a great buffet and a wide selection of salty and sweet food. The bar offers a beautiful selection of wine but cocktails are very few on the list. The barman can accommodate further enquiries, however sometimes the client would like to see or hear some suggestions.

The fitness area is quite small with Turkish bath and sauna but it's working well for a short stay.

Location has nothing to say: it's simply perfectly situated in the heart of the town and a walking distance from ground transportation and other facilities.

The hotel is beautiful with all the best design with comfort in mind. The location is just off the main Nyhavn canal and if your feeling up to it, not to much of a walk to the main shopping streets + Tivoli. Staff were very helpful and allowed us to check in slightly early following our very early flight. We stayed in a beautiful room upon the inside with views into the courtyard. The bathroom was stunning and although small had everything we needed. We didn't eat in the restaurant but did pop up to the top floor to observe the views over the city from the room terrace.
The only issue had was that the air-conditioning wasn't fantastic and despite it being December we just couldn't get it cool enough to sleep very well even with the air con on full blast.

I am a food and travel writer and PR, so I travel a lot. I was this month in Copenhagen, hosted at Skt Petri by one of the well known restaurants in Copenhagen. A stay that would have been otherwise pleasant, was destroyed by the appalling attitude by the staff, specially management.

On a morning during my stay, has a room maid thrown away my tooth replacement that was left in a glass in the bathroom. I kindly asked the hotel management to cover the material damage their staff cased due to their negligence (the hotel must have insurance for the cases of negligence!), but they showed that all they care about is profit, not a customer. They said they would not cover the damage because I have no proof that my tooth was even there. This is a 5 star hotel, not a hostel and my tooth was (I thought safely left) in my bathroom, not in the hall, exposed to a wider public! I would like to know if the management, when they travel, protect their rooms with cameras to have proofs of negligence from the side of the staff... This hotel group will not see me anymore. Never again. Ever.

Dear isa_3650 Thank you for sharing your feedback following your stay at SKT. PETRI.  We have already been in contact via email several times regarding this incident, and you have been informed that our housekeeping did not see or find any tooth replacement in the room. I have personally talked to the person in charge and all pipes have also been checked. This is of course a very unfortunate situation, but as previously explained you will have to activate your own insurance in a case like this. As mentioned in our email correspondence please send us the contact details of the lawyer you have been in contact with so we can pass the information on to our lawyer. Best regards, Charlotte Toft Operations Manager SKT PETRI

We recently stayed at this property for 5 days. The public areas are as beautiful as depicted on their website and service was outstanding. We got help from the front desk whenever needed, including tips on how to get our covid tests for returning to the U.S. The hotel is easy walking distance to shopping and wonderful restaurants, as well as public transportation, which is easy to navigate. Our (upgraded) room was phenomenal-- the "library," which contained many bells and whistles. Breakfast buffet (included with our room rate) was plentiful and delicious including wonderful fruit smoothies and ginger shots. We hope to return and would happily come back to Skt. Petri!

Skt. Petri is in a perfect location and walking distance to most shops, sightseeing, and restaurants.
This amazing hotel has a wonderful staff that are there to help and make your stay a pure joy.

Noteworthy mentions are Diana & Liliana at the front desk. Always there to help and answer questions with a smile. The other front desk staff are just as wonderful, but these two really stand out.

At breakfast Yani, was a pleasure. As we walked in after the first day, she knew exactly what we like and always made sure we were taken care of at breakfast. She goes above and beyond to provide excellent service.

At dinner Elias, was amazing and helped us choose our meal. Overall a great experience.

I would have given the hotel a 5 star. The only issue is housekeeping in this hotel. Although the rooms seems clean, I had allergies to dust. The toiletries are not filled or replaced. When you ask for soap or shampoo, they’ll just leave a bottle in the room. The towels were spotty and dirty looking.
Other than the housekeeping, it was a wonderful stay. Definitely recommend the hotel, and would stay there again.

According to the website, this was once an old department store and now offers a ‘refined sense of laidback luxury’. There is now little sign of the buildings roots but I will not quibble with the ‘laidback luxury’. Incidentally, the ‘laidback’ part is principally evident in the chilled music piped through the reception and bar/breakfast area. Whether it is a welcome addition to your stay is a matter of personal preference.

We arrived in Copenhagen shortly before the start of the corona virus border closure. Unsurprisingly, the hotel was very quiet. We were offered, and accepted, a cut price upgrade to a ‘Junior Suite’. I

Had my ‘Junior Suite’ been called a ‘large room’ or similar, I would have been perfectly content. As it was inclusion of the word ‘suite’ meant that I was a little disappointed when the door opened to my large room. However, it was a very nice large room with windows running the full width and looking out over a rather grand church. There was a sofa in the far corner and a good sized and comfortable bed. The bathroom boasted a bath and shower and a reasonable selection of toiletries.

Breakfast, with the inescapable chilled music, was respectable. There was a decent sized buffet with all that you would expect to see at a hotel of this standard. The bar/breakfast area is also very attractive - large, light and airy.

My only slight breakfast gripe is with the coffee. It comes from a rather smart stainless steel tap, sunk into a counter and controlled by an iPad type device offering cappuccino, latte etc but unfortunately the end result was a little disappointing. It was drinkable but the average barista made coffee is much nicer.

Service was always good and efficient.

Would happily return to the SKT Petri.

Hi, As i understand it the renovations will complete next year. They tend to start work each day from maybe 8am and so if you’re room is at the front of the hotel then you will be aware of the work. I suspect, though I don’t know for certain, that a room away from the front of the building might well be quieter. Please have a chat with the hotel who i do know will be very happy to discuss options.

They do - as well as steam room. However, if you are coming sometime soon, they’re doing major renovations and I think it’ll be closed for about a year from now. So call or email them before you go to see if it’s still being renovated.
