Great location near train station (for day trips) and easy walk to historic district. Friendly and helpful staff. Great restaurant recommendations. Very comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely stay again. Sister property is Andersen Hotel, across the street, also excellent.

Hotel's Favourite
I have a long history with this hotel. I was supposed to go to Denmark in 2020 but due to the pandemic I had to postpone my trip for almost 2 years. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. I have to say a few words about their back office management and customer service behind-the-scenes. What a fabulous team. Although I had a non-refundable booking, they kept my payment on credit and allowed me to carry it on into June 2022 to finally use it when I could leave my country. Special thanks to Anne Søndergaard Mikkelsen and especially Karen Nedergaard (General Manager). Karen was very nice to me and provided me with flexibility to extend my credit when I could not travel. Anne looked after my complex booking which had a voucher and extra payment required and all my special requests. Not only that, the staff gave me such a fabulous room on the top floor. The room was HUGE and so was the bed. The room was more like a mini suite. It had a separate area with a kitchenette and I loved the bar fridges (I think there were two?) I loved my room so much, and would have loved to stay here longer. The hotel is very close to the train station and I needed this as I was coming in from Odense. There's a couple of well-stocked supermarkets 5 to 10 mins away and a huge train station of food and 7-Elevens and small supermarkets. Stroget is about a 10 to 15 mins walk. I loved my stay and my room, thank you. My room also had a wonderful albeit small view of Tivoli and seeing the rides light up at night was a nice experience. The only criticism (and I could not remove 1 star for this due to everything they did for me) is during check-in. It was absolutely chaos. There were too many people and it was a bit disorderly. One thing they need to really clean up is the cleanliness of the reception area and the toilet downstairs was super grotty. I had to put my luggage in the room and I was very shocked that they were handing out keys to everyone without any security checks. Basically leaving your luggage in an essentially public storage room that many people could access. They did not ask for my luggage room key back either till I gave it back to them at the end of my stay. The luggage room is dirty and very insecure, but you have no idea till you get there, so you have no choice if you arrive early and you cannot access your room. The hotel is very busy so it is unlikely you will get an early check-in. I was quite afraid my luggage would be stolen or someone would mistakenly take it because the room was being opened every few mins by guests coming in and out - that is how busy the hotel is. There needs to be a better, more secure system where only staff can access the room. I know they did this for convenience so that the staff don't need to deal with luggage but for a four star hotel, you really do expect better. Having stayed at so many hotels across Europe during my many trips to Europe, I have never had such an experience, even at 3 star hotels in my younger years! There is also no lift to go to the luggage room. You have to carry it a few steps down or use this awkward steep slope. I am a fitness person and quite strong and was able to push 40kgs of my luggage up and down but for the majority of women this would have been impossible. The staff would not offer help either. Again I was shocked. What is someone weaker or older supposed to do? Most people had male partners who helped them. I didn't. This is the only one criticism but it is a major flaw. In any other circumstance I would have removed 1 or 2 stars because it was a shocking experience and I thought that I was in for a nasty surprise upstairs in my room as well. I was surprised my room was so nice and everything else during my stay went smoothly. As I booked directly with the hotel, they even gave me many bar vouchers which I used to get many bottles of water and coke! It was a lovely stay and the only thing that would make me hesitate next time is the deplorable luggage room situation!

We are so happy and proud to read your words, knowing that you have really had such a great experience makes us leave without words to say . First of al, we will definitely share your cheers to our General Manager Karen and our Revenue Manager Anne, they will be pleased. It is is nice to read, that you have liked your room, our location and all our staff, which is very important to us! In refence to your great comment, we really want to keep your suggestion that we will share with the managment , but we also want to let you know that we do not have an elevator to the luggage room, since the building is very old , but our staff will always help anyone to bring the luggages there! We do not have a bellboy service, but our reception/bar or kitchen team will always be ready to help any single guest. We can´t wait to welcome you in the future again and we wish you all the best ! Kind Regards Alice Pasetto Guest Relations Team

We had a fantastic stay, the reception staff were really nice and welcoming. There was some repair work going on and they gave us some bar vouchers to apologise - it wasn’t even an issue as we were out when the work was going on. Great location, we walked everywhere during our entire stay. A couple of good places around for eating/drinking out - Hooked fish restaurant, Warpigs, Spunk Bar (extremely cheap for Copenhagen). The breakfast was so tasty, so much choice and the coffee on the table was really nice. Thank you for a lovely stay, would definitely recommend to people we know!

We stayed her for a long weekend . Hotel is very clean and tidy, staff are exceptional , nothing was ever to much trouble . We hired the bikes from reception which we had a discount on as we did not require rooms to be cleaned in between our stay , if you required towels or toilet rolls etc you could just ask .The breakfast was excellent with a good choice and good quality also had gluten free for the wife so she was happy . The bar is great and for Copenhagen the prices are not bad at all , nice vibe to it on a evening .Location is great for getting around , metro stop not far away straight from the airport. If I was to be picky the walls are a little on the thin side if you are unlucky enough to have a noisy family next to you , but I’m sure if you had a issue the staff would move you if they had space . All in all a brilliant place to stay if you want to visit this friendly city !

Enjoyed a good long weekend at the Absalon. Good location, close to the central station and Tivoli. Liked the striped carpets and the bookcase lifts. Room was well appointed, comfortable, tidy and clean. Good service, asked for more pillows and they were brought up within 5 minutes. Stay included a good organic breakfast, the coffee pots on each table are a particular feature as was the cranberry and nut bread. The green ethos was strong and 'gifts' were offered in place of housekeeping which was well received. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Okay, so overall, a great stay, be aware the walls are paper thin! We stayed here for 3 nights. Night 1, we could hear a full conversation from the room next door, night 2, we could hear toilets flushing as if it was in our room, night 3, we heard a couple having full blown sex for about an hour!! Rooms are lovely and have everything you need, really can’t fault it! Hotel really central and has everything around that you need. Just make the rooms sound proof or something lol!!

Lovely Hotel very central and within walking distance of all attractions. The staff were lovely and all very helpful. Very clean throughout and breakfast was good. I had read reviews of the bedrooms being very noisy at night on the lower floors but we didn’t find this and our bedroom was on the 2nd floor. My only criticism would be that there was nowhere to put my clothes once unpacked so had to live out of our suitcase.

Thank you very much for sharing with us this amazing review after your stay at Absalon Hotel! We are so happy to read, that you have had such a wonderful stay with us, and that you enjoyed the central location of the hotel, the friendly and helpful staff, and the good morning breakfast. Our morning breakfast, is an organic bio buffet, that we prepare every morning with fresh local products. Thank you for sharing with us the comment about the space for unpacked closed, we don´t have a wardrobe as we do have in all our superior rooms and suites, which we suggest to book for long stays if you need a large space for yourself and for your clothes as well. We hope to welcome you at Absalon Hotel in the future, for your next trip to Copenhagen, again! Kind regards, Alice Pasetto Guest Relations Team

My partner and I stayed last weekend at the Absalon hotel for 3 nights. When we arrived the staff were so friendly and welcoming and as we checked in, upgraded our room. The hotel is clean and a great location, only a few minutes walk from Central station so really handy for travelling to the airport (and also Malmo). I would certainly recommend this hotel.

We’re just back from Copenhagen and the Absalon Hotel was fantastic! The hotel was very clean and any problems that had arisen were quickly sorted, you could fault them. I can’t remember the man’s name on the front desk on nightshift Monday and Tuesday… but he was so friendly and very helpful with a couple of enquires and one issue we had. We’d like to thank him for sorting those all out for us. Breakfast was good and had something for everyone and the decor of the downstairs entrance area was lovely and felt very welcoming! The hotel is very central in Copenhagen which is only a couple of streets away from the train station which is the best way to get to and from the Airport! 13-20min ride. Tivoli is also just across from the station so only a 5/10min walk from the hotel although it wasn’t open for us and isn’t open until the 31st of March. Although the hotel doesn’t do lunch or dinner, there is a good burrito/wrap menu in the bedrooms which is happily brought up to the room by the front desk if you’d like! It’s very filling portions and tastes absolutely lovely! So if you find yourself questioning it, don’t, it is nice food! Defo one of my top favourite stays!
