This was one of Rick Steves' recommendations and was perfect for our two night stay. The central location was an easy 3 min walk from the station. Loved the little sitting room near the stairs landing, full of light, comfy sofas and pleasant ambience. Our room was simple and clean on the second floor overlooking the lively square with all...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Frimurare Hotel. We arrived on the train and the hotel is just across the street. Its an old historic building with nice rooms. The restaurant is really good. The staff is very friendly and helpful with all our requests. The hotel is located near the Kalmar Castle and the downtown area. The room...

Almost perfect location and were greeted and taken care of by Bobby who could not have been nicer or more friendly and helpful. We had a very small room down the hall off the lobby, which was nice. Maybe not a place to spend a week but as we were there only 24 hours it was fine. Any shortcomings were...

Central location next to restaurants, shops, and entertainment. Wonderful to see how an older structure can be repurposed and well maintained. Had everything but in room coffee. Included breakfast was superb.

The hotel does not have air conditioning, so you have to leave your window open. The bar in front of the hotel is extremely noisy. I could not fall asleep until after 2 AM. You know it’s bad when ear plugs are provided in your room. The hotel is not staffed 24 hours – they give you a second key...

Booked two rooms with breakfast. The rooms are historic with charm and good value. If you are OK to overlook some of the short comings such as chipped paint you will enjoy this hotel. Wooden floors, high ceilings and great location.

Had been here in the pre-TripAdvisor era and it was cool then, and it is still cool now. The difference is that the ground floor is now taken by a restaurant/pub. The nice old hotel reception desk and area is gone. Now, just one end corner of the restaurant bar serves as reception. Anyhow, the place is old and it...

Our Rick Steves tour used this hotel for our Kalmar visit. It was easy to get to, near the old town center and close to the Kalmar Castle. This hotel is very charming - nicely appointed rooms, classy decorated public spaces. Breakfast here was very nice. Our bedroom was on the first floor. It was very roomy and beds were...

Hotel is located strategically near to Kalmar station. Shevin was very much helpful in having our room ready and during breakfast also. We entered and she handed over the keys since we had already booked the room and informed her about our arrival plans. Decent Rooms with all amenities. you should also walk by to see the sea shore having...

The hotel could not be any better located: on the central Larmtorget of Kalmar, next to the railway station, the old town, Kalmar Castle and plenty of restaurants and shops. The building itself is charming and has a century old style. All windows, doors, doorknobs, paintings, furniture, the hardwood floor are antique and majestic creating an old fashioned serenity without...
