My husband and I booked a small double room, which has never been a problem. Here, however, 6-8" on one side of the bed was joined by a small on-the-wall TV at a low level which made getting into that side of the bed pretty unworkable (you tripped in the wires or hit the TV itself) . The elevator was...

Very friendly staff , wonderful location, nice breakfast. We were leaving before breakfast times and they made cheese sandwiches for us to take with yummy chocolate coins for later. As mentioned by others the bathrooms are nicely updated with heated towel racks ,oversized towels and comfy robes. Although our room was very clean with very nice bedding it was quite...

Located right in the middle of old town, the hotel provided true luxury for a reasonable price. Gorgeous room with comfortable king bed, great breakfast buffet, helpful and charming staff and large bathroom with jacuzzi tub.

Arrived in Stockholm after a 15 day cruise in the Baltic area. First impression of the hotel located on a small street on the Gamla Stan ( Old Town) was not overly impressive. That impression was quickly resolved upon entering the small lobby and very nicely furnished room- large and newly renovated bathroom. Breakfast was included and had many options....

Nautical themed hotel in the heart of the Old City. The rooms are styled to look like cabins on a ship, and you get complimentary port and chocolate. There are tea and coffee facilities in the hallways, and a wonderfully ornate selection of nautical pictures and souvenirs on display in the public areas of the hotel.

We stayed here at the end of a 21 day cruise before we went to the airport. The hotel is charming with each room named for a ship captain with ephemera of the captain in the rather small room - expected for a building built in the 1600s. The staff was friendly and helpful and delivered a small vial of...

Very pleasant, cosy and interesting hotel in Gamla Stan region of Stockholm. Very friendly and efficient reception, very tasty and plentiful breakfast. Single room I had was rather small but had everything necessary, and was very quiet. Location is perfect for sightseeing and walking around Stockholm. Only 15 minutes walk from train station too.

I am on day 2 of a 4 night stay and have nothing but good things to say about the customer service and fantastic breakfast that is served from 7:00 - 10:00 a.m. each day. The variety of food is great and it's the perfect mix between hot and cold items. It fills you up for quite a few hours...

A really cute hotel, with bags of spirit and filled with sailing antiques, it's located in the beautiful Gamla Stan - old town - and is the perfect base for visiting Stockholm. Really close to the metro, the ferries, and a short walk from the mainline station with coach and train connections to the airport etc. The staff are wonderfully...

What a great little hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming and go out of the way to answer questions - even to find out where the wonderful bathroom tiles were from. The hotel is located in the beautiful old town of Stockholm - the palace, the Nobel museum etc - and a couple of minutes from the metro station...

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Victory Hotel is a welcoming and exclusive hotel with a personal atmosphere in a perfect location in Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s charming Old Town. The fact is that the hotel is a tourist attraction in itself. It contains a unique, private collection of maritime antiques, passionately selected by the collector himself, the hotel's founder Gunnar Bengtsson. There are three restaurants and one bar in the hotel; Djuret (The Whole Beast), Omakase, The Burgundy and The Comfortable Bar Tweed. The breakfast has a selection of cold cuts and hot items and is served in the downstairs dining room, which also has the remnants of a defence tower from the medival city wall on display. The hotel serves complimentary coffe and tea to all their guests and to unwind you can use the Sauna and Relax area exclusively, and free of charge. ... more   less
