This hotel has a great location and delicious breakfast is served in the morning. But you should visit it for the night experience. Rooms and corridors are decorated with old paintings, some wooden sculptures and traditional tools. It has more to do with spending a night in a museum than hotel, this place feels like Agata Christie's movie location -...

This hotel has got many positive aspects : it's located in a strategic position, in the center of Gamla Stan. It's style and furniture is a nice mix of traditional, antique and ship fittings. It's personnel is always extremely kind and smiling. One suggestion to make it even better : enhance soundproofing. Sometimes it's a bit noisy.

Central location, friendly staff, clean room, all seemed fine until you try to sleep. Every quarter of an hour nearby church bells chime once, twice or three times and in full hours it a full show. This goes on all night making your stay a full torture. Believe me folks, you don't want that. Please make sure the hotel confirms...

We were a family of 5 who stayed in the Apartment Miranda of the Lady Hamilton Hotel. The apartment is spacious, beautiful and well equipped. The downside is that you have to walk a small distance to the apartment (taxi's aren't allowed to drive in that part of Old Town), which is fine if you don't have lots of luggage...

The welcome at reception was underwellming as were the direction to our 4th floor room, reception directed us to the stairs which we were about to tackle when we discovered a life. The rooms a small but this is typical of Europe and as we found on this trip Sweden and Norway but it was very comfortable. After that initial...

I spent 10 wonderful nights at the Lady Hamilton and couldn't have been more happy with the hotel. Location is perfect. You are literally in the heart of Gamla Stan. I've stayed in Stockholm before, but never in Gamla Stan. After staying at Lady Hamilton I will only stay in Gamla Stan. I can't say enough about how friendly and...

As others have said the Hotel is quaint and charming. The rooms are all somewhat small but well anointed. The beds are awesome and the breakfast is fantastic...with everything one could want, hot or cold and a very nice assortment of gluten free foods if you need that. There are church bells nearby that do ring. We were there Christmas...

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
