We stayed in the hotel and it was nice and clean. Our room overlooked the garden. The location was perfect to walk everywhere. We had the transit pass but hardly used it as we chose to walk to most places. Walking to the old town was very nice. One day we walked along the water and found an oasis at...

My friend and I were surprized how lovely this hostel was. Very clean, good facilities, in a parkland setting, yet only 4 metro stops from Gama Stan. We never had any problem waiting for shower when we were there, despite the hostel being completely full, infact the bathroom was always empty. Good food served in the restaurant. We also took...

You can rent rooms in the hotel or hostel part - as my other reservation was cancelled shortly before my trip, I managed to get a bed in the hostel. Such a pleasant surprise - the area is slightly off the beaten track but you can easily access the center on foot if you don't mind walking (otherwise the train...

The room was small, but the hostel was well-equipped and clean. There were enough toilets and showers, and there was a nice lobby, bar, and computer lounge to hang out in. When the weather is nice, there is a great area for outdoor seating.

Very nice hostel, great location beside Tantolunden parc, near water and many coffee and restaurant not far away. My experience was marvelous, renting here a bike and strolling around down town Stockholm...the best is biking along the water.

Fromt officer was really friendly, allowed me to check in early at 8.00 am. Kitchen and dining room were tidy and guess what? Free pasta on the house. One of the staff didnt like the fact that i cooked at 10pm ,in fact the kitchen is closed at 12am. Quite distanced from nearest metro, worse if you are tired after wandering...

Stayed here for one week in the hostel complex room was ample for what we needed. Shared toilets and bathrooms were spotless. I would highly recommend visiting and staying in this area fairly quiet too. The hotels bar had a lovely pint too. I would stay here again.

Here are some points that I find important: *) Room equipment (4 Beds): The room contains beds, 2 chairs and a table and lockers for each person (free). An extra fee for bed sheets and towels of 90 Kr must be payed. At least it is not per nighty but for the whole visit. *) Beds: In my opinion they...

When I first arrived, I thought this place was in the middle of nowhere. However, in the morning, I realized that it was located in a park-like area among many cute garden cottages. It's like an oasis in the city. It's a 5-10 minute walk to one of two subway stations. Also, you can stop on the way and watch...

Staying in Hornstull & Langholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Hornstull & Langholmen
If you love having a drink by the sea right on the beach (and who doesn’t?) Hornstull & Långholmen should be on top of your list. The area was recently redeveloped and now not only offers artsy bars and edgy restaurants but also a post-modern shopping mall complex for urban retail therapy. Hornstull belongs to the more established and sophisticated neighborhoods in Stockholm and is the typical place where you’ll find Swedish dads meeting for a latte during their paternal leave, or where local office workers meet up at the art cinema for a drink or a movie after work. The beaches in Hornstull and Långholmen are popular destinations for barbeques and sunbathing during the summer. Bring sunscreen.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Zinkensdamm is a 3-star Superior Hotel situated in the midst of the picturesque plantation plots by Tantolunden at Sodermalm. Despite the central location, the hotel is surrounded by several green areas which infuse a relaxing atmosphere. The decorations of the hotel rooms are inspired by the old south of Stockholm while still maintaining all the modern facilities. All rooms are provided with private shower and wc as well as a flat-screen TV with free cable channels. Zinkensdamm Hotel can offer a wide range of rooms, from a single room for the lone traveler to a family room to the traveler visiting Stockholm with kindred. The green areas in the area offer lovely jogging tracks and path ways in a cultural-historical environment. Feel free to upgrade to one of our superior rooms and get a mini-bar and tea/coffeemaker in the room. These types of rooms consist of either a double bed or two separate singlebeds. In the morning we set the table for our generous breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, yoghurt with berries, soured milk, various types of juices, coffee/tea, freshly baked bread, fruits and a wide range of different cold cuts and spreads to put on the bread. The hotel is constantly being renovated, yet maintaining the special atmosphere of the genuine Sodermalm. ... more   less
