Great restaurant with one of the best breakfast I have had at hotels. Located at a nice square - my room had a balcony towards this square. Both rooms and bathrooms where big and modern. In the room there where both CD's and DVD's - this was a nice touch.

We stayed three nights over a long weekend at Rival. For the first time ever, I feel like everything at the hotel worked as it should. I think Rival wasn't special in any particular way, but it did everything so well, I couldn't have asked for more. Staff was friendly, breakfast tasty and borrowing a DVD from reception worked well....

We stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel Rival. The hotel is very centrally located and our room was very quiet (a big plus given the jet lag). The staff were extremely friendly and helpful giving us advice on things to do, what to see, and how to get there. The rooms were small (typical of many European hotels), but...

We have just returned from a long weekend at the Rival and were very impressed. The hotel was in a great location very close to the Tunnelbana which made travelling around very easy. Hotel was clean and fun and the staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Sean the Concierge. Definitely worth a visit!

We've just returned from as stay at the Hotel Rival, and our first stay in Stockholm. I'd done a little research around the most popular hotels in Stockholm, and I really liked the look of the hotel as it was a little quirky (something my fiancée really likes). We booked into a deluxe room with a balcony and had the...

Stayed at the Rival in early September 2013 for one night and overall, this hotel was quite good. Here's my take on it. Plus: 1. Room was clean on arrival. Spacious and well thought out with a DVD player and movies (on disc) available in your room. 2. Bathrooms were spacious and clean as well. 3. I took the balconied...

Staying in Mariatorget

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariatorget
This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars. Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park or one of the nearby coffee shops, so come to Mariatorget to meet the locals. The northern part of Mariatorget boasts historic buildings, beautiful cobblestone streets, and one of Stockholm’s best observation decks, Monteliusvägen, from where you can see an amazing view of the city hall and Stockholm’s old town.

Dear Julie

In our larger rooms superior and deluxe we can fit in an extra bed, we only have a few extra beds so please contact us directly so we can check availability.

Flemming above is totally correct, we are located very good transportation wise, the subway is 200meters away and a 5 minute walk to the old town where you can take the ferry to djurgården and main attractions like the Vasa museeum.

Thank you for your request. I would recommend you to book a deluxe room or a suite which have a larger bath room than a superior room.

We offer baby cribs free of charge and we also have baby chairs in the breakfast room. so staying with a baby at Hotel Rival is an enjoyable experience. We also have a lift to all floors.

It takes about 40 minutes to walk from the central station to Hotel Rival. I would recommend to take the Metro. There is a Metro Station only 100 meters from Hotel Rival and the ride takes about 6 minutes.

Hello denisem59,

We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed the comfort of our beds. The bed model is called Gullö from DUX/Lagans (with more than 1,000 jointly double-twined spirals). The bed linen is high thread count Egyptian cotton from Gastaldi/Amotto. There are a wide variety of pillows, both in the bed and to order from the pillow menu. In the beds we have two fibre pillows, two maxi down pillows, two mini down pillows and two Oeko-Tex standard pillows. Depending on which pillow you mean, they all come from two companies: Mille Notte and Varnamo of Sweden.

We hope that this helps!

Hej Anette,

Vi har ett garage med parkerings service. Det kostar 445kr per natt. Ring hotellet på 08-54578900 om du vill boka. Annars finns det parkering på gatorna runt omkring hotellet (gratis under helgerna).

Hello!

As mentioned by others, the hotel is in central Stockholm and the airport is a bit outside of the city to the northwest. You can either take a taxi (40 minutes). A fixed rate with Taxi Stockholm is 520 SEK. Make sure you are careful which taxi you take as some of the smaller companies can have a higher fixed rate.

As Lucy B mentioned, there is also a commuter train (pendeltåg) which takes you to the station Stockholm Södra/South. This station is just 4 blocks from the hotel. A one way ticket costs 125 SEK, but you can buy a SL travel card for public transportation and then you only have to pay a 75 SEK fee. The trip takes 45 minutes.

Another option is the Arlanda Express train. While it sounds faster (20 minutes), it really isn't as you then have to get from the Central Train Station to the hotel (taxi, subway, etc.). And it is more expensive.

Best regards,

The Rival Hotel
