We arrived and given our keys straight away. We had 4 bungalows between us as a group of 10. The 2 bedroom bungalow was lovely and had its own sauna. The other 3 were 1 bedroom bungalows were ok but a little dated. Lovely and warm. I wish I would have taken a. Tea towel and slippers. Flip flops were handy for the shower as there is no shower tray. We were half board so I took pasta that you Just need to add boiling water to and part baked rolls. We did walk to the supermarket 15 mins away and got pizza ham cheese butter etc. there were 2 cafes within a few minutes walk. There is also a pub opposite the supermarket but we didnt use it. The walk From The bungalow to hotel is 3 minutes walk and we didn’t feel the need to keep putting on our snowsuits. Food is good but I would say to get there earlier for dinner rather than later as we found things ran out. Could always find something. Tea coffee and water are available with dinner. We found the staff friendly and helpful. Drink are quite expensive (wine of week) 36 euros. Beer 9.50 euro. The location is lovely there is a National Park 5 mins walk away! Take the sledges to sleigh down the hill and we also walked up there to see the northern lights which came out for us Christmas Day. We went with tui and they were good. The kids club was great, the taster session brilliant. I booked snowmobiles before I went for Xmas eve. When I got there they changed it to Xmas day. With a bit of swapping around we got to do it Xmas eve. Great experience but things book up before you get there so book early you can always cancel 24 hours before! The taster sessionsis 2.5 hours so that might be enough for you. Happy to answer any questions.

Location is lovely and remote if that’s what you’re after. Food is ok, drinks are very expensive. Very safe for the children to run around so our daughter loved it. Unfortunately 2.5 days out of the 4 we stayed we had no hot water or heating in the bungalow, wasn’t ideal with a 6 year old and -20 temps. Accommodation is dated but comfortable, that again seems to be the norm.

Am writing this review to put people at ease as there are not a lot of reviews on this hotel.we stayed 5th December to the 8th of December. After a troubled flight from manchester (stopped off at newcastle) we arrived at kittila, bags put on the coach and then off to get our snow suits and boots.got our boots and walked to suit counter didnt have to tell him what size as he had already got them out and they fitted,a little too big but good for extra layers underneath (don't panic if it does not fit you can exchange in the hotel) so on the coach to hotel which is approximately 2 hours away and that time they give you a bit of time to chill out and take in the scenery, which is stunning!!!.then after about an hour or so we had a sing song then the driver suddenly started braking (worrying as its on the snow but no all in control )there was a load of reindeer crossing the road, beautiful!.so Santa's helpers give everyone their room keys to save everyone queuing in the hotel and a form to sign that you drop of when passing!.ideal.the reps(santas helpers) said if we wanted to meet in reception at 6pm to go and do marshmallows on the fire at the lake.so we met up sorted out our sticks with them on and off we went to roast them, tasted lovely with the warm berry juice.this then escalated into a snowball fight (1st of many) with Dasher Dan being the instigator.off then for tea.i found the food very nice different types of soup starter, meats, fresh salmon pastas, salads, breads, cakes and biscuits freash coffee and teas.breakfasts consisted of white beans in tomato sauce bacon(streaky stuff),scrambled egg sausages, breads, cereals, berries, yougerts, jams, cheeses its goes on to many to name.it wasn't a big selection but something for everyone.then kids entertainment started, which was funny they really do inter act with the kids Dasher Dan,merry eileen, tea cup etc cannot remember all the team (sorry guys) but they do not stop with the kids and my lad loved them.next day onto the taster sesions, husky ride, reindeer ride, snow mobile ride, kids go on a sledge towed by the guy at the front, sledging and again warm berry juice in the snow castle.you can then book what you wanted to with the rep.it was fully booked when we where there which we didn't mind as the little lad just wanted to sledge.then back to the hotel at lunch time.we walked down to the super market 20/30 min walk and got some cans of pop and sandwiches.we took pot noodles and snacks.then afternoon events took place on the lake it was snow Olympics it was a laugh, and that then turned into a snowball fight 😀. Then, inside to do crafts, kids were busy busy busy.the hotel was really warm, and the suits and boots provided were exceptionally warm.1st day i wore thermals, tracksuit and snow suit but it was far to warm for all that so i changed to just 1 layer of thermals and snowsuit it was much better.there were plenty and sledges dotted around the hotel to use.drinks are quited expensive €9.50 for a pint €6.00 for a baileys €5 for a coke.the little shop in reception sold ice cream and keyrings etc.this hotel is not very big and the atomshere is very relaxed.gala night food was really nice, you get called up to see santa 1 family at a time.the kids where told not to open their presents until every child had theirs.Absolutely loved this place so much,so the wife has gone out and booked for next year,we have only been back a day,so hetta hotel see you again next year.the sauna was very nice and the plunge pool was freezing but thats what they do in finland.enjoy your visit!!.there is a FB page if you want any tips etc

We stayed for one night. Had an evening swim in the indoor pool and sauna, and a refreshing morning swim in the lake before breakfast. The breakfast buffet included some hot food, porridge, cereal, youghurt, bread and cold cuts. The hotel room was simple, but worked well - well maintained, clean and good beds. The three course evening meal we had in the hotel restaurant was amazing. The well-composed menu was based on local ingredients. The starter with char and the today's main course with reindeer meat surpass dishes we have been served in expensive restaurants in cities as London and Paris. Pleasant, smiling and service minded staff.

Our group of 11 people only visited the restaurant, but WOW, what an experience. We stayed elsewhere but were so impressed with the restaurant that we booked another table for a few days later. Apart from the incredibly professional service, the food was absolutely exceptional. The menu was interesting and the dishes were cooked perfectly. It was completely unexpected to have such a high-end culinary experience in such a small town. A must-visit for all culinary fans!

Excellent dinner - we chose the 3 dish menu, and it was worth recommendations and more. Fish was local white , meat was local reindeer, dessert with wild herbs and berries delicious. Three sorts of home made bread were served before starters. Also The teenager of our group was happy.

Hotel is oldish outside and unfortunately also same applies to rooms to. But if this is no deal breaker for you it is best hotel in a quite large area around from Hetta. Room was clean and reasonably comfy, tv is small but you have a large windows facing 'tunturi' so there is beautiful scenery to view. We did not used shower cause there is good sauna / pool for free to hotel guests. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful! We had chance to charge our car over night using normal shuko FOR FREE! There also EV charging point, not sure about operator. And most importantly breakfast was superb as in all Lapland Hotel chain hotels.

I was a little worried not finding many reviews about Lapland Hetta however don’t be this a lovely hotel in a really pretty small village but perfect. We visited as a family of 4 for Christmas and had a suite with sauna in the bathroom. Hotel is lovely and friendly helpful staff. The tui reps we had including snowy sammy were fantastic really went above and beyond. The hotel is situated on a lake which is a forest location to catch th northern lights. We had taster sessions of husky rides, reindeer and snowmobiles which are all great about 5 min coach journey away, we booked the Hetta huskie safari which was one of the best things we have ever done and snowmobile adventure at night with Christian who is a very interesting knowledgeable man. The food in the hotel is of good standard and a good variety. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Lapland.

We visited the hotel for four nights from 23rd December to 27th December. My review is based on the hotel and not the tui reps etc. We had a suite in the main hotel which consists of a bedroom, living room with sofa bed, toilet, shower room, sauna and a kitchenette which consists of a fridge a few shelfs and a sink there was a kettle but no cups or cutlery which we found strange. The size of rooms was great. The hotel is old but adds to the ambience. It was very clean and tidy. Breakfast there was lots of choice and tea, coffee fresh juice etc. Evening meals was ok you will find something to eat but some food was cold and most of it overcooked for children it consisted of fries and one other item. One night it was lasagne one night it was nuggets and the other night was ground beef which was burgers. The hotel is set in stunning surroundings very very picturesque. There is a supermarket a 15 minute walk away and if you turn right out the hotel there is a ski slope about 5 minutes walk away which was great for sledging. There is also a small museum and at the back of this a trail that leads up to a lookout with a fire pit it has some great views and would be great to search for the northern lights. If you are visiting with tui and want to book excursions that are cheaper than booking threw tui try a company called hetta huskies theh do husky dogs, snowmobile excursions etc and are very reasonably priced .
