The hotel is a family hotel very charming and welcoming. We were in a room overlooking the sea that was on two levels. Comfortable and nice. Two issues to mention, the bathroom is super small and if you have a shower then all it's wet... specially the floor and everything. Not nice in winter to be stepping of humid floors...

Hotel Glymur was our first stop upon landing in Iceland. I planned to stay at this hotel as a surprise for my boyfriends birthday, and wow I am so glad that I did! Upon arriving very late to the hotel we were greeted by an extremely friendly employee who showed us to our room. Upon awaking the next day and...

The hotel is in a good location. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The hot tubs are available 24/7 and are great for keeping warm on a cold night whilst aurora hunting! Don't rely on the wake up call though - if you want to see aurora, check the cloud cover forecast and aurora...

Visited this hotel for a week long yoga retreat. The hotel is so homey, spotless, comfortable and accommodating. The staff was attentive but also discreet. Great breakfast buffet. Location is remote but beautiful-would recommend.

Room was small and split into two levels. Ground floor sofa, desk and bathroom, then up iron stairs to bedroom. Ground level has a large window looking out to Whale Fjord. The room were clean, tidy and homely, but the only thing that mattered was the view. Provided in the rooms were good bathrobes which we used to walk to...

Good hotel, outdoor hot tubs, friendly staff - do try the rotted shark, done their way it's actually pretty good! Good food, easy to find (watch for flags at the side of the main road, that seems to be key to finding hotels in Iceland).

This was our first stop in our trip around the island. They have a great restaurant, where we could enjoy a mushroom soup, lamb and ice cream a la Glymur. The hot tubs also offer a great atmosphere with an astonishing view along the Hvalfjordur. The water is very hot, very great and you also have a place where you...

We visited Hotel Glymur for 4 days following our wedding and stayed in one of the villas. The villa was appointed nicely and very comfortable. The solitude, privacy, and views were quite lovely. We ate at the hotel restaurant the first night and experienced okay lamb and very dry chicken. The wait staff served our soup before our wine even...

The rooms are wonderfully laid out over a couple of levels to maximise the space. Very creative and provides a sitting ares as well as the bedroom floor. The food was excellent and the hot tubs perfectly located to be sheltered and get the best views.
