Great accommodations, great location, quiet, peaceful, beautiful, near Akureyri downtown, great breakfasts and great history buff owners, They also serve a sit down meal that is tremendous from all accounts (did not try it myself), but given the delicious home made items at breakfast they know how to cook.

We were recommended this guesthouse for a 1 night stay whilst doing the Diamond Circle. Didn't quite live up to expectations but not too bad. I think/suspect all the excellent reviews were written during summer visits, we stayed there last week and things change "out of season" somewhat it appears. When we arrived we were shown to our room, perfectly...

Stayed here one night last week. Staff very friendly and helpful. Needed a printer and staff went home to get one for us. Had an evening meal of the best lamb we have ever eaten. Chef was a very interesting and helpful gentleman. Breakfast was more than sufficient. Rooms were excellent and really clean. Hot tub was super. Beautiful views.

We had a great 3 days at Ongulsstadir. We were given two connecting rooms which were very nice. The food was excellent and home cooked every day. The owner made sure to cook traditional Icelandic things such as a roast leg of lamb. The farm is in a lovely situation south of Akureyri and it was great sitting in the...

Slightly out of town so you do need a car but set on the side of the fjiord with the most amazing views especially from the hot tub !! Rooms are a decent size with comfortable beds, good showers etc. Service consistently good over a four night stay and if we needed anything all we had to do was ask....

We spent three nights at this guesthouse and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is family-run and the owners and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Of the three places we stayed in Iceland on this trip, this was our favourite. Both breakfast and dinner are served buffet-style; there is no choice at dinner, though there is a vegetarian option for...
