The one-star review is mainly to get the attention of the management staff. If you've ever stayed in cheap hostels in mainland Europe, you've probably experienced much worse than this hostel. Main complaint is it is quite a ways outside the city and the manager was extremely rude: The night I arrived I saw a sign that said breakfast was... More

The place is 4km form the city center so not so close by walk. It is a guesthouse not a hotel... shared bath and toilet. It is clean that is cool. The reception guy is repellent and indecent with the guests. The breakfats are always the same and not so fresh. The price v s qulity is horrible. I do... More

I stayed here for nights In June. I paid a good price and for that I can't really complain too much. The room was clean with fresh bedding everyday. My only complaint is that given that Iceland has 24 hour day light this time of year the curtains did not cover the whole window. I did complain about this and... More

I dont know if regular rooms are nicer but everything nice about my stay I can say, that it was cheap. Showers were awful. Temperature of water keep changing and it was hard to catch a break when it wasnt cold as ice or skin burning hot. Beds were cheap ikea bunk beds that keep squeaking and waggling. People came... My room was small but functional, the water in the pipes smelled like well water...kind of like boiled eggs, and the food was subpar if not bad. The best thing about this hotel is the staff is very nice and helpful but unfortunately the hotel is too far from the city center so the cabs were $12-$15 just for a... More

Simple place with shared bathroom (3 rooms/bathroom), a bit far from the city to walk but has a good bus connection. The room was minimal but for a short stay totally good. Loved that they have a kitchen where you can have something simple, make coffees, tea. Internet connection was good. Brekfast decent. Lots of parking space around, a good... More

Conveniently located inn close to the centre. Good breakfast, clean room. It was easy to find (unlike supermarkets in Iceland :)) We got a room with double bed and a shared (between 3 rooms) bathroom. We only stayed for one night before proceeding on our Ringroad trip

Yes, this hostel is the best choice for someone like me, which means: cheap and once again cheap. That was the reason why I booked 16-bed dorm for 3 nights. The hostel is pretty big, have several floors. On my floor was a big common kitchen with dining area including a common room with couch and television. Showers for women... More

I am a pretty straightforward hotel guest and don't demand too much but would not stay here again. The location is not great - thankfully we had hired a car which I would say is a necessity to stay here. The hotel itself... Good: The room itself was spacious and clean. The wifi was good - we could watch netflix... More

I really, really enjoyed my trip to Iceland, probably the best place I've ever been, made so much easier from the Captial inn, yes it's a little out of town, and you wouldn't walk into the heart of the city in the snow, but the staff make it so accessible. They arranged all our trips, from watching the northern lights... More
