Warm house with interesting art work and extremely warm welcome from hosts, Edda and Runar. Extremely comfortable bed and room; great shower (with geothermal hot water!); tasty breakfasts with wide range of items offered including home baked breads (Edda is a fantastic cook). Centrally located with great restaurants within easy walking distance (many thanks to Runar who gave us invaluable...

It's close to the center of Reykjavik without being so close you get all the noise. In fact, it's right across the street from the famous church, Hallgrimskirkja. Within walking distance all the great restaurants, budget and high-end. The hostess, Edda, is so nice! And so caring. You feel like family when you stay with her. She ensures everyone has...

Very welcoming and cozy guesthouse! Our room was comfortable, clean, and spacious and the hosts and staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The location was also optimal. Our stay in the guesthouse added to our great experience in the capital. Edda was very attentive to our needs and made us feel very comfortable and welcome. Highly recommend!

What a little jewel of a place. Hedda and Gunnar offered their hospitality to us with a super double room with private bathroom lovely and warm and very clean. Fridge in room which was great for the substantial packed breakfasts provided for our early morning trips. The dining room has a long long for all guests which had Icelandic books...

The night that i arrived the assistant lady that was working there was very kind and helpful, she even offered to carry my luggage even tho she's pregnant! The room itself is small but very cosy with a washing basin and a mini fridge?! Not that you require a fridge in iceland but that was a nice amenity, tea &...

My experience at this accommodation was unusually weird. Runar the owner made the whole experience feel like I was dating his daughter and he wasn't happy about it. Perhaps it's because I was a Solo male traveller. After visiting 133 cities worldwide, I can say that staying at this place was a little awkward. I've stayed in B&B's from Africa...

We stayed in the Loft apartment affiliated with Eric the red guesthouse in a location a short walk away. It was lovely and cosy and always very warm (we left the windows open most of the time and we were there in early Feb). There were three adults staying and there were actually beds for 5 (a double and 3...

Thanks you Edda and Rúnar for a wonderful stay! In Reykjavík (and Iceland as a whole), everything is expensive, however this guesthouse is good value for money. The location is excellent - literally across the road from Hallgrimskirkja, the main landmark of the city and at the top of the main shopping/restaurant street. 5-10 minutes' walk in the other direction...

We started our adventure in Iceland here at Eric the Red Guesthouse and what a delicious breakfast we were provided by Edda our host, prior to setting off on our self driving trip... After nine days on the road exploring the wonders Iceland has to offer, we were excited to be ending up back at this Guesthouse for the last...
