My friend and I have an early flight arrival, and check in isn't until 2:00 PM. Can we arrive at the hostel, drop off our luggage so we can explore the city, and return at 2:00 PM to check in?

Of course, any accommodation will usually let you do this and if your room is ready when you do get there early, a really good accommodation provider will let you into the room too.
