Super clean. The guesthouse is near downtown 20 minute walking time. The rooms are small but you have access to a full kitchen shared with other guests. The owner of the guesthouse was very helpful and went out of her way to help us when we needed assistance. I recommend it.

We stayed for 8 days. Operator was so helpful and cleaned the shared areas daily. New towels and sheets exchanged every few days. Bathrooms (2) were tight but functional...same as kitchen. Breakfast was not just some items laid out, but full access to meats, cheese, bananas, apples, different breads, tomatoes, cereals, coffee/tea...and all appliances if you want. You could buy...

Stayed at the Athena for two nights before joining a tour round Iceland, the location is good being just a 15 minute stroll into Reykjavik old town where old harbour, restaurants and bars reside. The rooms are clean and big enough for a stop over. The two shared toilet/shower are a bit tight but adequate, the self service breakfast from...

Athena Guesthouse is in a quiet location about a 10 minute walk to downtown Reykajvik. The guesthouse is clean and the owner is very friendly and helpful. The room and bathrooms are small, but clean and quiet. I would recommend this for anyone searching for a small, quiet, clean B&B. Breakfast is "do it yourself" but plenty of food. Wi-fi...

This was an amazing place. It had fast internet so I could FaceTime perfectly. It was extremely clean and a great location for many different visits to the city or connections to excursions. The breakfast was diverse so I could choose what I wanted. Truly family owned and run and it shows they care!!

It is a great location located in a residential area and is very quiet. The wharf area is only a 10-15 minute walk, plenty of restaurants. Breakfast is provided in the full kitchen and you may also prepare lunch and dinner at the Guesthouse. I would stay there again.

We stayed at Athena Guesthouse for our fist night in Reykjavik. We arrived at 2 a.m. and were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from Egill, our host there. He was more than eager to help us with our most pressing issues (finding a rental car, where to get supplies, etc. )! The beds were cosy, the rooms were...

So glad we found this place. It's in a great location - less than 10 minutes to all the bars & restaurants. The owner is super friendly & helpful - he gave lots of good suggestions of where to go in Iceland. The rooms were clean & comfortable & the self-serve breakfast was terrific. We stayed at Athena Guesthouse our first night in Reykjavik, our first night in Iceland, in mid May 2014. The guesthouse occupies the main floor of a two story building. We were happy and lucky, as it was not yet high season, to be able to have an early check in as our plane had arrived early in the morning....
